I saw that too, it was a left hook. Lemieux looked wide open for it all night, too.

As far as the OP saying he was not getting hit....you might want to watch the replays. He was getting bludgeoned and not defending himself at all.

Nothing's stopping you from continuing to believe in him, it's not like this is the end of the road just because he lost.

His corner stopped it at the perfect time- with a young fighter like that, it's best to stop it a punch too soon and have him be pissed off at it for awhile than a punch or two too late. There's plenty of time for Lemieux to recover and some lessons he can take out of this- he doesn't have to let it ruin him.

Looks like it's time for Lemieux to hang em up because, you know when you are KO and/or lose, you are shot and finished. On the bright side, he may end up on the ChinChecker's fragile/glass jaw list, an honor that anyone should be proud of..

i agree, it was a good stoppage as far as looking out for his future. he probably would not have survived the round. just shocked at the result. of course i will continue to support him, he's an exciting fighter, that won't change, unless emmanuel steward gets a hold of him. hope he can learn from this and get back before too long. this loss is a big set back, he was only a couple fights away from a title shot.

Because most of Lemieux's shots landed on gloves and arms, he got through with a few but not many.

I'm disappointed at the outcome as well, but it's best he got the lesson now as opposed to getting destroyed by Martinez by simply not being ready for it. I know he's been boxing since he was a kid, but he's still a 22 year old with barely 60 rounds of pro experience. Rubio had twice the fights and 4 times the number of rounds boxed, Serg has twice the fights and almost 6 times the number of rounds fought. And against stronger competition.

Now it's up to him to prove he's got the resolve to learn from the loss, improve, and come back better like Tszyu, Wlad, and Hopkins have done. :good

I want to commend FORMIDABLE for his thread title. He didn't give away the result the way the ******* writers on the main page of ESB did. I saw the thread and didn't open it because I didn't want to know. Then my computer got unplugged and when I rebooted and came back to ESB the first article showed the results. As of right now the 2nd round of Stevenson/Edwards undercard fight is airing. Anyways, I just wanted to thank FORMIDABLE for not being an ******* like the writers on the main page.

i believe it was "lemieux is kayoed wow" :yep

i thought espn would show it live for all parts of the us, and then the delayed replay. esb site writers are just regular fans too, aren't they? i guess they can plead ignorance too
