Nothing wrong w/ russ anber, lemieux is just a 4 round power puncher
who throws EVERYTHING hard. I'm not a bit surprised by tonight's events.
If a shopworn Rubio exposed lemieux, then russ anber did the kid a favor'
pulling him out tonight. He's just not ready for the next level, and I don't
    think he'll ever be.

Why does this always happen in ESB? Fighters "Like" Lemieux gets beaten. The overwhelming sentiment of the Forum is "He'll get stronger", "it's a good loss", "hat's off to his opponent"...blah blah blah.

Yet when "other" fighters get their first loss, or don't look overly impressive in wins....."HYPEJOB", "****ING BUM", "****ING OVERRATED"....this happens EVERY-DAMN-TIME!!! It seems as if no-one has the BALLS NOR COURAGE to be honest about their reasons for hating or holding "other" fighters to a "Higher Standard"....Yet they have NO PROBLEM with calling/labeling/assuming that other Posters are "The R-Word". So it appears that not only are fighters being held to this "Higher Standard"....Some Posters are as well.:-(

Excellent point, and it reiterates how ESB has turned into an armchair fans
site instead of the hardcore knowledgeable fan site it used to be. You can check any post i ever participated in on lemieux, and you'll see i said he
was all hype. But the girls on here think he's cute, and don't know boxing
so..................Well. Now, they can look for a new idol.:|

I have had the SAME criticism about Lemieux in every thread that's been made about him (including a few threads of my own). It's a simple quote from long-time trainer Eddie Futch: "CONTINUING TO MATCH A YOUNG FIGHTER AGAINST SOFT OPPOSITION, WILL ONLY IMPROVE THE FIGHTER'S RECORD....NOT THE FIGHTER".

I said about 5 fights ago....that Lemieux needs to fight opponents that will make him GO-ROUNDS. His whole resume is filled with 1st and 2nd round KO's. I wanted to see how Lemieux learns/adjust in later rounds. There were several questions I wanted answered...Can he take a good shot? Can he win late rounds? Can he fight through injury or cuts? This was my only critique of Lemieux....but there are posters who saw this critique as RACIST....REALLY?

remember when Lee & Khan lost. same stuff here. I guess the light at the end of the tunnel is that a lot of fans are idiots but I'm hoping that most realise it's a 2 horse race.:thumbsup

Alot of good trainers but not too many good strategist. The guy Lemeiux has good tools but they were using a poor strategy tonight. Roach would help him with his head and foot movement gettin inside. Lemeiux was faster than I thought and his power was for real. Sad to see he didn't have the strategy and basic smarts to go to the body. Lemieux's future depends on his trainer.

As for what he was doing. It ****ing disgust me to watch a fighter throwing alot of shots and hardly landing (like 10%). He threw alot of shots while Rubio was on D but hardly anything when rubio would start throwing. He was playing to the crowd gettin loud at superficial flurries. I hate when fighters use the crowd in this way. Glad he got punished for doing it to such a less gifted fighter like Rubio who any above average strategist would have got by. He went fraud style and is now looking like a fraud. The best hit people while they are swinging being offensive and defensive at the same time. This seperates good from great fighters. He better learn or forget about A level
