Mick Hennessy was touted as the number 2 promotor in the UK after Frank Warren since most of fat Micks fighters have left him can Eddie Hearn/Matchroom replace Frank Warren as the number one promotor in the UK? Matchroom seem to be building a good stable, Im suprised they didnt pinch John Murray before Warren and that Warren allowed Matchroom to take Brook.
nope but they can compete with him, dont know about eddie but Barry hearn could promote 2 guys pissing up a wall and connections must be brilliant as have the sports schedule is supplied by Matchroom
I think Matchroom see more longevity with Brook and Barker. Maybe Eddie looks at Murray and thinks ''he won't go to much further''..
Matchroom are very much opportunists and because they've got their fingers in a lot of pies, they're much more likely to desert and abandon in thinner times. A lot of committment is required for long turn success in boxing.
Frank Warren gets a lot of hate but he is King. Hope you read this Frank cuz you are always complaining about the internet boxing forums :tong
What a really stupid and pathetic thread. Frank Warren has taken on all comers over the years and still comes out on top.
Wonder if they'll aim for a particular governing body FW bums the WBO FatMick lovedthe WBC Hatton seem to be chasing the WBA...
Why is this a stupid thread ? Yes Warren is number 1 and will probely stay that way for a while but Mathroom has the money and contacts to do really well if they commited more time and energy to boxing. They promoted some massive fights in the 90`s and could do again.
Part of the reason why boxing is stagnating is because promotion for boxing in the UK has been dominated by Warren, More competition means more fights better cards and better pay for the boxers. Hatton promotions was grossly over rated as a promotional vehicle and it completely balls up Khan -V- McCloskey under card, Hennessy is just an obese waste of space. Only threat to warren is Matchroom now I feel, Malone is high and dry like Hennessy.
