Nice stuff from ishida. But I don't understand the scorn for kirkland. He's a guy who will come to kill or b killed... so he's not champion material, big ****ing deal. Hes never in a snoozer and comes to give fans their money worth. I see more people just happy to talk **** about fighters that lose then praise the opponent that won. :patsch

I hear ya! He might just be a late bloomer, or just caught Kirkland on a very off night. I know the future just got bright for this kid. What an upset!!!

This kid did look sharp, he took some decent Kirkland shots and fired right back hitting his target.

:rofl at the end of the vid...Kirkland asked Cortez, "Why you stop the fight?"

Cortez reply, "You got knocked down three times."

"Three times? What?" Says Kirkland :rofl

Stop it haterats Alvarez is not that talented. He seems pretty average so far. Just cause he's Mexican don't make him great. He's the next hype job.

Wow... thats what comming to the ring bone dry will do to you... He had a cold Start plus he went in there with no plan.. I mean before the prison bid Ann Wolfe had Kirdland moving toward some type of Defensive stratigeies.. But holy **** he look like poop tonight.. I mean Joe Cortez is the ref but a lay down tackle on a guy getting up is a bit strange I think Cortez was in shock too and was like let me stop this.. I wasent expecting this guyto get shot in the 1st round.. It could have gone on but it was totally in an area where you could and possibly should stop the fight.. but as a Fan.. I think I would have like to have seen one more go round... Sucks for Kirkland.. He needs my Man Virgil Hunter to train him.. I was at the Julio Vs Kirkland fight at San Jose Area and I seen Kirkland take more punishment that day then tonight.. Weird... Maybe the Jail time sofend his chin but a 3 knockdown first.. (Word to the wise Never go to Prison)

Kirkland was hurt. He was walking in pot holes, then got knocked down again, then he was really hurt. If he had gotten up after the 3rd knockdown, he would have soon been knocked down again! He had not chance after those knockdowns. And he was calling for Martinez?! Martinez would have murdered him!

Yea I agree... It was the perfect storm.. Kirkland should get a re-match... Could be a different outcome!

I knew Kirkland was a hype job. The dude got wobbled by the most average competition on FNFs. Oh well. He has been exposed...

I agree with you kirk...even though I'm having some fun with this just because it's so damn unexpected, I'll still watch any Kirkland fight I get the chance to. The sport needs guys with his usual attitude. It's going to be tough for him psychologically because alot of people are going to treat him as a laughing stock as a result of the HBO hype he was getting combined with this result.

I could see that something just wasn't quite right with him once he got in the ring before the fight started...I don't want to say he was disinterested, but I didn't see the focus I usually do out of him. Maybe he thought he had an easy night's work, maybe the new trainer didn't mesh with him, who knows. Just look at the difference between the two's body language before it starts- Ishida looked ready to whip some ass, Kirkland seemed like he almost didn't want to be there.
