QFT. Kirkland had nobody to blame but himself. The better man won. Part of me wishes there would have been something more conclusive, but then again part of me realizes that Cortez was just doing his job. It was an 8-rounder, not a championship, and his main job is to protect the fighters. Not the best stoppage ever, but certainly not the worst, and certainly not uncalled for. I have no quibbles with the stoppage and if Kirkland does, well, he can train harder next time.

He was tugging on the referee trying to pull himself off the canvas and still couldn't get up. There's no way in hell that was a bad or even a questionable stoppage.

Ive looked at the posts and I take it back, I said a good loser will always be a loser , but if he is disrespecting his opponent , then that is not right.

I only made that point because Kirkland looked upset with himself, but if he is starting to talk **** about the ref and the other fighter , then he is just a bully who deserved what he got.
