This sums it up. Styles, off -days, on-days. It's a sport people.

 

In reality Khan beat Kotelnik 9-3 and Maidana could have went either way with both. I thought Maidana won 6 against Khan and felt a point should have been taken from Khan at the end of the 6th. Bradley is the man at 140. Khan has a good chance against him though. Morales was in a different league to anyone in this division in his prime and was better than Pacquiao at FW/SFW at his peak. Pacquiao is a natural LWW and completely destroys anyone in this 'loaded' division inside 6. That's how I see it all.

 

Morales had the blueprint to beating Maidana that Khan simply didn't have; and had it not for his body giving up on him in the final few rounds Morales might even have won (I had it 114-114).

He nullified Maidana's overhand power shots by staying close to him and not giving him any leverage, whereas Khan stayed on the outside making him susceptible to those wild swinging shots.

I think this has showed that Maidana is a very beatable fighter and not this monster that he was built up to be. Anyone with half a boxing brain will be able to nullify his punching threat and outbox him on the inside. I think Bradley and probably even Alexander beat him.

Maidana also showed his dirty side yesterday, leaning in with his head and trying to lean into Morales' swollen right eye, and continuously punching after the break. He should've been docked a point IMO - dirty ****er AND a one trick pony. He had no answer to Morales' gameplan after plan A (blow Morales out with big shots/ increase workrate) failed and resorted to those kind of tactics. He's going to be taught a boxing lesson soon.

You sir are what is wrong with boxing. Instead of sitting back and thinking "How the hell does this Moralles dude manage to do this?" you think "How is the other guy not beating him?".

The way I saw that fight is basically Moralles showing why he is a legend. Maidana hit the harder punches, but Morales could take them so easily, and Maidana showed more hurt when Morales hit him. It was a crazily close fight and definently a fight of the year prospect imo.

 

Midana also came close to upsetting the ever prime, super talented and ultra athlete in amir Khan just 1 fight befroe this one. It does say a lot....but to the credit of Erik Morales and where he stands as a fighter today. If Midana is over rated so is everyone in the Jr WW division, which is the one of the hotest division out there. Tim is not the man at 140...that would be Khan. Tim is 2nd which is nothing to be ashamed about but there needs to be some clarity.

 

Maidana was sub-par last night but lets stop with this bum talk, he puts on great fights everyone should be a fan of his, IMHO he is a danger for any of the 140 guys even after last nights performance.
