Thats probably more down to the fact that advertisers know its not going out to a major audience.

Wasnt froch's issue with ITV down to his promoter not being able to deliver the required amount of fight cards ITV wanted?

Channel 5 and Primetime are both owned by Richard Desmond. If Channel 5 is involved then it would likely be to push the pay per view and broadcast the fight at a latter date.

And I wouldn't read too much into the UFC deal - I doubt their paying much for what is basically reairing old fights. And they never showed much commitment - passing on the rights to air two Las Vegas cards live.

Sky should now show the Berto v Ortiz card!!

Ringside is going to be interesting this week. Obviously they already had the show planned and the majority would of been about the Khan fight.

Now I doubt they will even mention the fight is taking place.

You're probably right but the viewer wins (although a hallow win as the undercard will be shocking).

I think ITV's budget got slashed and boxing was the first thing to go. Obviously ITV said that Hennesey wanted too much cash.

They only signed him though in the hope of replicating some of Hattons success, if he vanishes into obscurity in this country his value to them diminishes greatly.

Surely Khan will be able to swing that as part of the package he's offering Primetime?

It won't be on Channel 5. That channel nearly always gets mooted when these situations turn up and f-all happens.

It will be on prime time or it will be called off.

Problem is they must have a budget for sport and the majority is swallowed up in football. I doubt there is much left to play with after that.

I think that's happened to a certain extent already - all the talk of Golden Boy moving into British market directly dried up pretty much the same time as Hatton and Calzaghe's comebacks were called off. But yes this just destroys his leverage when his contract expires this year....this has proven to be a quite spectactular own goal.

I mean imagine...if he hadn't insisted on fighting in the UK he'd probably have gotten a decent fight last night to headline the Action Heroes ppv. And ironically Sky would have probably showed that on Sky Box Office!

Is that up to Khan though? I suspect Golden Boy/Gary Shaw just sell the rights to whoever will pay the asking price.

ITV's sports budget has been blown on Adrian Chiles :patsch so unfortunately other sports like boxing and darts have been dropped completely

on other channels , radio , newspapers whatever it takes

its maybe a bit late but if they had done a deal a couple weeks ago khan could have done the rounds and bigged them up

If nothing is sealed by tonight, this fight is off. I've never heard of a fight with no network 1 week before a fight.
