He beat Morales on the cards but you can't hate the guy for getting an controversial decision over the loved Morales, this is the 2nd fight that he's involved in that' a fight of the year candidate. I hear alot of old timers say that O.DLH lost mexicos love after he whopped chavez sr. Conclusion: Maidana is gonna gives us some great fights in the future and not regret spending our hard earned $.
He's fun to watch but only against the right opponent. It's not hard to see that technical boxers like JMM would embarrass him. Matthysse, Rios, Provodnikov, are all great fights for Maidana.
I appreciate that he fights anyone and always makes it a brawl, but he really isn't a very good boxer. Just physically strong for 140 (which does count for something). Sorry. :conf
I gotta admit my computer /stream crashed in the last rounds and fair play I heard he came on strong - but you could hear the venom in his punches in the first two or three rounds then he just seemed to lose it as much as Morales stole it in the middle rounds,, to the point where I dont get why people think its FOTY material apart from it being about a comeback from an old timer,,, not that I dont give every credit to Morrales for pulling it out of the bag, but I just think Maidana looked appaling in the middle rounds,, even the few rounds he won his technique and power wasnt a patch on the first rounds. I'm not dissing the guy but I'm pretty sure he didnt prepare half as much as he did for Khan/Ortiz etc
Not much of a boxer but he can take a shot, showed a lot of heart to get up when Khan dropped him, and he's strong at 140.
With that being said can bradley , judah or devon do what morales did or even better and get a UD over Maidana? And or did his change of trainer have a bad effect on him?
