Ricky is starting to get severely underrated these days... but then again who can blame it really, his career is always going to be overshadowed by that loss to Pacquiao by people calling him 'glass jawed' etc...
He TKO's Katsidis in 6 prime for prime at 140lbs.

I can't see how the fudge Ricky does this "easy"...he took a long time to chop down some pretty ordinary fighters or sometimes didnt chop them down at all.

Katsidis doesn't go quietly..its not in his makeup.

I don't really see a situation where he wins though..I'm not saying that at all but he would hang tough for quite a while.

Yeah, I agree with this. I think maybe Hatton wears him down eventually (he'd be landing those bodyshots all night). Definitely wouldn't be surprised to see Katsidis making the bell though.

Damn Ricky Hatton has become very underrated here... Prime Hatton is clearly a tier higher and much better fighter than Katsidis..... Lets compare Katsidis fight with Diaz who like Hatton is a very aggressive, straight ahead fighter...But Hatton hits alot harder and Physically stronger.... I think Diaz clearly beat katsidis (judges had it too close).. Would be exciting early but Hatton would start outclassing him by the early to mid rounds and eventually stop Katsidis..... Hatton Tko 9.

To be fair anarci..I cant see one person who has picked him against him here.

I don't really dig the Diaz comparison, as they have pretty big differences in their punching technique and defensive style.

Juan's a tighter, more classic textbook stylist..Whereas Ricky is more of a instinctive brute, with impressive athletic ability.

I actually see Mick's widish and at times unorthodox combos probably landing easier against Ricky's...but he would be taking 2 to his 1 and they would have a hell of a lot more stings than Baby Bull's.

Yey your right no one has picked him.. .I just read the rest of the posts.. I was just wondering why this fantasy matchup was made, i do them alot here but i like to pick evenly matched fighters..

Yey as for Diaz and Hatton you are right i stand corrected and i agree with your opinions on their styles.... I guess i was just stuck on that fact that there bot Short, aggressive fighters... But Juan is more textbook and throws straighter shots. Where as Hatton tends to Maul more and more physical..

I think Hatton would smash Katsidis to be honest, he was much bigger and better at almost everything. How do you see Katsidis competing effectively? Hatton was overrated by many but at his best he was still pretty bloody good. Katsidis is hittable and Hatton is bigger and badder, i can't see it going well for him despite the fact that it might be exciting for a short time as Katsidis operates mostly on ticker.

Katsidis has a custard right arm so his only effective work would involve trading in close with the harder hitting and more resilient fighter in Hatton.

I dont see any situation where Mick wins, or even gets close to winning.

But the point I was trying to make is that Ricky took a while to overcome fighters inferior to Mick...so I don't see him going out very early or succumbing easily, as some here have alluded to.

Reckon his eyes and face would betray him before his chin and heart did..so I see this going fairly late and Mick will have a couple of sequences that would get the QLD pubs roaring, in between many that would have the Macunians on their feet.

Exactly. I really like Katsidis but they aren't in the same skillset.

I like that fight. Hatton wins yet Kat does more than we expect him to do.

Hatton would smash him with ease.
