The two main events on Warren’s PPV are far superior to Khan’s fight. How could anyone but a member of Khan’s company or an idiot argue otherwise?

Put it like this – if it was bombing on Sky with all their marketing muscle and expertise, what does that tell you about the fight? Haye-Harrison which was a much worse quality fight than even Saturdays still sold more. Because Haye actually IS a star.

Sky are interested in Khan Bradley, BUT there is the obvious factor that it is going to be airing at 4.30am. Part of the SKY promotion for this event was to build up the Bradley fight, especially in the weeks after this upcoming bout.
That is now not going to be happening so it is very unlikely that there will be a PPV for Khan Vs Bradley and the offer will probably be for SS1/2/3, Unless.. it can be attached to another boxing card earlier in the evening, as with Khan Maidana.

How dumb is team khan? Primetime over SS3. What planet are they living on. Yes SS1 would be better but sky sports 3 is better than Primetime. Makes no sense at all!!

Agreed. Haye was never off radio or TV in the build up to the fight with Harrison [did much the same with Valuev] appearing on shite like Loose Woman, The One Show Graham Norton Show etc etc. Haye knows how to sell a fight.

I'd seen nothing promotion wise from Khan in the build up to this fight. He may not like doing it but kissing ass and putting your face about is what, in part, sells fights on PPV

    That was then.

I don't see anyway Primetime are guaranteeing that. Plus Primetime are not an easy PPV channel, you need ot register first.

I know it's really unlikely, just wondering if they were even considering it.

I think Khan is a PPV fighter but with the card that's been put together for this I don't think this is a PPV event.

The problem is that everyone knows this is a stop-gap fight for Khan to stay busy and make some money before the Bradley fight.

In my opinion a PPV fight has got to either be a high-risk fight (Hatton Mayweather), a fight with a sellable narrative (Haye Harrison), or both (Groves Degale).

Khan's problem is that he now sees himself as a celebrity brand, and expects to be paid like one.

Remember his last stand-alone Sky PPV show was the Salita fight and that came with a pretty decent Warren card. Since then the Malinaggi fight was free-to-air on ITV and the Maidana fight came as part of the Warren show earlier on which originally had Chisora Klitschko featured.

In the time between the Salita fight and now Khan has come to the conclusion that he is bigger than he actually is in Britain when in reality he still needs that little extra to entice the extra buys or the 'casual' fan.

Khans are the biggest joke in boxing. This should be given to every budding promoter out there how not to promote your fighter. As for the Hattons there is not a lot they can do its all Khans doing IF Khan was to pull out the card would of been pulled as well. What a shame for McCloskey the majority of Irish fans that cant get over to watch it live will be left in the dark. A lot of people will be watching streams on the net now.

Why would sky release a statement saying its not on? The fight won't be on sky sports 3. Team khan think amir is bigger than he actually is. They believe his a superstar when I'm reality his far from that.

I'm surprised we haven't heard some bollocks about TeamKhanTV being set up at the last minute as a PPV outlet to sell the fight. I can imagine it now: £50 and you get Shah and Saj on commentary. They could present it like The Kumars at Number 42. Nice and cozy. Lovely.

Sky have in a way perpetuated this myth though they gave Khan the PPV date before he even had an oponnent for this fight which sends out the wrong signal to team Khan.

Sky said basically whoever you get is PPV worthy. Now Sky have tried to make amends by wanting a strong undercard but the fact remains that intially Sky basically backed Khan as a PPV fighter before they had an event

It varies, for the hatton alvarez fight it was english commentary but for the bigger fights ive watched like mayweather v mosley, pacquiao v margarito etc. commentary was in arabic, i dont mind it though as i have sky sports too so i'll just watch the bigger fights there :)

yeah i guess you'll need quite a big dish ive got it pointing 26 degrees east.

Sounds like Sky called Team Khan's bluff and now they're left to find a replacement station with less than a week to go.:patsch
