yeah it does make complete sense and in every sport there are traditions, prestige and history... and with boxing those things are found in America. it may not be 'fair' under the present climate but for now that's the way it is of course all this would be a moot point if JC had ditched that blood sucking scumbag Frank Warren a few years ago and made a name for himself in Vegas while he was still in his physical prime
One of my friends is American. In complete contrast to the majority on here, he isn't a complete spastic He couldn't believe it when I showed him rugby. He was like "What the **** dude, why ain't they wearing pads"
oldman river has always done that. why use your fist in a fist fight fight, when you can bring a knife?
I've played both Rugby and Football. Lacrosse is pretty rough too, as is Hockey. Rugby is rough, but the way the game of American Football is set up, it would be impossible not to use pads. Also, those guys tend to be bigger (especially linemen). I get what you're saying, and I don't honestly believe one country is tougher than another. The toughest, strongest, fastest from the UK are just like the toughest, fastest, and strongest in the US.
People are people Unfortunately too many need a bunch of statistics from boxingrec, and names that need to be American just for the sake of it to be able to see how good a fighter is. Watch Joe Calzaghe, and tell me he is not a great Then when you do beat an American fighter, the excuses are in early Jeff Lacy is knocking Calzaghe out in 5. Joe wins, they always knew he was crap, and the Manfredo fight proves it. He got the beating of his life and had surgery, of course he's done you spastics Then Kessler is a 50/50 fight. The young warrior is going to dethrone the old fraud. Oh wait, Joe wins and it's another Euro bum Hopkins stumbles past some bloke named Tarver who I wouldn't know if he punched me in the face, beats a light middle, and loses twice to Taylor and suddenly this is going to convince people Joe is a great? I'm not worried about Hopkins at all, he's a joke. Kessler had me going for a bit
This makes absolutely no sense. Jones didn't fall off until he was 34 or 35. That's a long career considering how far he came. A young Calzaghe would''ve lost, he was too green.
Kessler is extremely good, and I'm not just saying that for Joe's sake, I think he will prove me correct when his career is done and dusted I mean who the **** is beating him at MW/SMW or even LHW? I'd love to know, I really would. Two if you are lucky, and one is Joe Calzaghe
Agreed. Kessler is an awesome fighter with tons of power. I hope he eventually gets the respect he deserves.
a fight with dawson would be close. kesslers jab, timing and accuracy would be trouble for dawson. the same goes with dawsons ultra fast hands and quikness giving kessler problems.
Is there ever a sure thing in boxing? As far as big fights go, this is about as sure as it gets. Despite my wind up, nobody thought Hatton would win. We were shitting ourselves about Kessler, he looked menacing. All Hopkins does is add an American big name to his record, it doesn't mean anything to me and I certainly won't be giving Joe huge credit for it Beating an old man, that is already scared of you, and headbutts more than he punches Not impressive. But if that's what the American public wants Joe to prove, so be it. A beatdown awaits
