    :lol::lol:

If it happens that Donaire becomes the money man in boxing, then Martinez vs. Donaire is justified, and Donaire has to find an excuse for not fighting him?

That is the most pathetic excuse for fighting someone.

As if Pac is now obligated to give retirement money to every fighter, just like Pac has obligation to JMM for his retirement fee, after fighting bums like Katsidis, grandpa Casa, pillowfisted Juan Diaz.

You're acting like it's something new, and cowardly, Pac picking up a belt at a higher weight and then giving it up and without fighting the best fighter there (in Pac's case a fighter yet another division above!).

It's not, you'll find most of the top multiple weight champs have a belt like that. (Leonard LHW, Duran MW, Hearns LHW, Jones HW, Whitaker JMW & JWW, Mayweather JWW & JMW) :deal

Pac's said in that interview just posted he'll fight anyone from 150 and below. He knows his body and his limits better than you or any other hater. If Martinez wants the fight he needs to get down there. But then he'd likely he drained and not at his best, just as Pac would be bloated and not at his best above that. This fights not happening, people need to forget it

You don't recognize Pacquiao as a true 154 champion but you expect him to act like one? Hypocritical much?

I wonder why they do not acknowledge. As repeatedly mentioned above, Pac abandoned his 154 belt because they realized he could get hurt badly.

Exactly, retirement money for Mosely, don't worry he'll chip in another retirement money to the next fighter he'll fight next, JMM(?) :D

He isn't good enough to beat Martinez at 154. There's no shame in that. He's a natural light welterweight whilst Martinez has developed into a middleweight now. Pac has no business fighting above 147. He only did so to get a paper belt and do what no other boxer has done.

Pacquiao weighed in at 144 1/2 lbs. against Margarito. In the ring, he was probably under 150 lbs. If Martinez weighs in at 154, he will enter the ring approaching 170. He's already got a 4in height advantage.

Pacquiao made his first bout at 106 pounds. He has gone up 38 pounds, Margarito was 43 pounds heavier than Pac's early opposition. He's now effectively fighting guys that are 50% bigger than when he started.

Martinez has gone up 13 pounds so far. He refuses to go up to SMW, because the guys there are "too big". These guys are 21 pounds heavier than the fighters he faced at WW.

In summary: Martinez refuses to go up half the way Pacquiao went up and instead challenges the man who is 4 inches shorter than himself and who will be outweighed by ~20-25 lbs. on fight night. Yeah, what a dragonslayer!

Also: Martinez is the worst possible match-up for Pacquiao. Just like Floyd. I'm all in favor of matching Pac vs Floyd, because at least physically it would be less of mismatch (Floyd is clearly bigger now) and Floyd isn't running as much as Martinez - and as much as Floyd himself did 5 years ago.

You just can't expect Pacquiao to fight a guy who is two full weightclasses above him AND has the wrong style.

As I always say at this point: Roy Jones didn't fight Lennox Lewis to gain the HW crown, he fought Ruiz, the smallest and worst of the champions. And nobody said **** about it.
The game can't be "Let's see who will be the wall that Pacquiao finally crashes against?"

Exactly.. Who else is going to achieve what he has? No one for a loooooong time..

Why aren't they fighting? Pacquiao is BARELY a welterweight.. Hell, when he fought Margarito at 150lbs, he only weighed in at 144.. Martinez can BARELY make it to 154lbs and would have to drain himself a little as he is becoming a true middleweight.. People just can't seem to grasp that weight matters..

martinez and his team were quoted as saying that sergio can make 156 for a possible fight w/ pac.

never heard them say that he can still go all the way down to 154 for the fight.
