If the Khans are getting 50% of each buy they will need 14,000 sales to make £100k. Obviously this does not take into account the long term negatives.

Its just strange that Khans team fail to see the reason why Sky said no. If you want Amir to be a PPV fighter provide a decent undercard.

Khan has never been a PPV draw. The fight with Prescott was his inaugural showing on Sky Box Office. He got caned in 60 seconds, Nicky Cook got battered by Rocky Martinez and Maccarinelli got laid out by Afolabi (IIRC). The PPV was a disaster on every level. There were few buys (which funnily enough, Sky kept secret like they always do when something doesn’t work for them), little interest and a whole load of hate from even casual fans.

Since then, Warren did a GREAT job of rebuilding Khan. ***in, Barrera, Kotelnik and Salita were all decent opponents on paper that gave Khan the title that’s allowing him to ply his trade in the US. No one would have cared about him without it. And that’s only happened because of Warren.

You can see the difference now Khan’s alone in the UK, without GBP’s support and business acumen. With nothing but a series of amateurs around him, he’s made mistake after mistake.

Mcloskey is an appalling opponent for an “elite” titlist of Khan’s supposed calibre, especially when the Bradley fight was there to be made. The only way it would be excusable would be if they used it to build interest in the Bradley fight.

But that’s not what Khan wants to do. They’ve decided to try and make Harrods-style profits out of a Poundland style match-up. They think that Khan himself is the main event, rather than the fight. They’ve made the mistake of thinking training with Pacquiao gives you what he has. And frankly, Khan’s not even close and never will be.

Warren knew that and did a great job. More than anything, he was a professional. He got his TV rights sorted out, he got good venues, he did great local promotion and he built fighters into attractions. Khan might be still benefitting from Warren’s excellent management, but it’s running out.

It wasn't even Harrison v Rogan.

It was Harrison against some Brazilian bum. George Arias was it or something?

Edit: Yeah here we are http://boxrec.com/date_search.php?yyyy=2008&mm=09&dd=06

If my memory serves me right Sky only televised Harrison, Arthur-Cook and a minute of Khan-Prescott. That as a pay per view was even worse than the current card scheduled for Saturday, but even then you can see the depth that Frank Warren put to the card for those actually in attendance.

Absolute disgrace, I could post a hell of a lot on this but I am just flabbergasted by Team Khan. The damage has been done, Khan will struggle to ever get the aclaim that he feels that he deserves. Hopefully we will now see Carl Froch on Sky in his place.

Oh my god. I have gone from total respect for SKY and looking forward to watching this fight to being ashamed of team KHAN. How to take your career backwards knob
