Many boxing fans have resigned themselves to the fact that if we ever see Floyd Mayweather in the ring again it will not be against Manny Pacquiao.

If a return does take place in the event of Floyd needing more money then it will likely be against an opponent deemed unacceptable in the eyes of everyone but Floyd himself. When Floyd looks across at his opponent all he will see is the dollar sign, not the disappointed faces of fans either side of him.

The pursuit of money is not a bad thing in the boxing game. Every fighter slugs for money and everyone wants the best pay,

Put simply there is no bigger payday out there for the man whose nickname is ‘money’ and who spends his time talking about it.

But the conundrum that faces Floyd is that few people will care when he does eventually return. His inactivity has seen his name slipping down and out of various pound for pound rankings and few consider him to be above Sergio Martinez and Manny Pacquiao on merit.

If Floyd returns to the ring will anyone be there to care? Is retirement best for the man who craves the limelight?

I really want to see pac knock him out, but besides that I want to see him retire happy and healthy with all his cash not ending up like jones, yet from what I see he doesnt seem so happy, maybe it would be better if he just retired and moved to a private beach with drinks and chicks.
