How has PRIZEFIGHTER changed boxing?

prizefighter aint really changed nothing though, apart form giving us a fit kevin mcbride beating some other great heavyweights i dont recall much change

 

Prizefighter has not changed boxing. As has been said before Prizefighter is pish. If you're looking for changes to boxing then look at the reduction in rounds from 15 - 12 in championship fights. Also look at the introduction of multiple weight classes and how both have made the sport safer.

 

maybe you could bull**** about how promoters are changing venues back to big stadium rather than casino venues, pac has fought twice in cowboy stadium and cotto in yankee stadium, how its going back to similar ways from years ago how more people get to see the fights live like the way it happened back with the likes of jack dempsey etc etc

 

If you want to stick with the Prizefighter theme, then I would state how Prizefighter has changed boxing is that it gives fighters who otherwise would have little to no TV exposure, the chance to showcase themselves to the "casual fan"

A perfect example of this would be Martin Rogan, who won the Heavyweight Prizefighter and received title shots off the back of it. His name is known to many of my friends who barely watch boxing, but they know who he is after watching Prizefighter.

It can also be an avenue for an older or named fighter who has had a fall from grace. Audley is an example of this, winning Prize Fighter, beating Sprott and then getting a World Title match.

These opportunities usually don't come around as quick or as easily, but the exposure garnered from Prizefighter gets them in the Spotlight.

The last Prizefighter was about Robin Reid all the time in the build up, but young Rocky Fielding (who only had 3 fights prior to this) won the competition. Now he has been signed by Frank Warren, and will get more TV exposure, and casual fans will recognise his name probably more than the likes of Derry Matthews, Nicky Cook and John Simpson who have fought long and hard careers.

So in short it has made a difference.

If you want to make it prestigious sounding, explain how it is so big that Mike Tyson did the draw for the heavyweights as well! :hey

 

its gettin fighters who wouldnt have as much exposure to show a wider audience what they are about .while also allowing these fighters to receive more oppotunities to fight for titles

Prizefighter+Bull****=legit answer! Got the opportunites it has offered fighters that wouldnt have had, increase from venue size and then domestic to international. You got the amount of rounds, judges informed not to rule draws, its purpose to get fans out to watch live boxing; it covers all bases.

In truth it doesnt make a big impact on the game its a glorified novelty tournament with good £/chances for winners but it could work for this

 

Prizefighter is just part of a sport that was already evolving..
