Soto-Antillon was the best fight on the card and the main reason for purchasing the ppv. Wonder what fight will replace the Soto match up. A future Antillon-Rios fight would be good but I was looking foward to the Soto-Antillon rematch. If Soto goes to Golden Boy he will have a lot of options between 135-140. A match up with Guerrero would be nice but I'd really like to see a Maidano-Soto match up at 140.
Really is a blow to the May 7 card. Who the **** turns down being on a Pacquiao undercard? Milk that appearance first, THEN leave!
Arum loved to recycle Humberto Soto and Jesus Soto-Karass on Pacquiaos undercards. Who will he fill in with now that Soto is moving on to better things? :think
JMM-Soto, make it happen! So JMM can KHTFO, take away his WBC strap, and leave Soto out of the Lightweight picture for good, and make room for the other worthy Lightweights like Rios, Vazquez, Guerrero and Acosta.
I was initially willing to throw down the $65 for this card. I was looking forward to Vazquez Jr-Arce, because my hope was that Vazquez would be next for Donaire. That doesn't appear likely now. Without Donaire hanging out there to fight the winner, I don't have the same interest, although it is still a solid undercard fight. I was still planning on ordering the card because Soto-Antillon was such a great fight the first time around. If it doesn't go off as planned and it is replaced with something much less intriguing, I won't order the fight.
Its Probably because hes not put in big money fights and GBP gets a lot of people money fights. Soto has hardly ever been on HBO maybe Soto wants to be on HBO because HBO gets a lot of money and gets you fans
He had a chance to be on HBO when he was offered the Peterson fight, but Soto flat out ducked, and went and fought some other tomato can instead.
Soto has done nothing since that Guzman loss and it's all his fault for turning down fights. He knows he is past his best and is looking to cash out. I'd take Morales over him right now.
Soto-Antillon I was a contender for match of the year though, and Pac-Mosley has a good chance of being the most viewed PPV event in boxing this year. It would have been his best chance to leave the casuals with an impressive showcasing before bailing ship.
The only thing I know is that this feud between TR and GBP is stupid! Possible good match-ups and they aren't made becuase of their feud. Then you have TR.....who has some of the best fighters in several divisions and Arum doesn't pit them against each other to milk in more money! I just hope TR disappears for good. I am not favoring GBP as they too **** up by trying to hype several of their fighters who show nothing once they are put against "decent" competition.
GBP isn't scared to put their fighters in tough fights though, even outside of their promotional unbrella. Do you think Ortiz would be fighting Berto this weekend if Ortiz was still with Top Rank? No chance. Top Rank does bring us some good fights but their fighters are far more protected than fighters under other banners. :deal
Good and Bad The good side Soto vs Marquez should happen soon then:happy The bad side Soto vs Rios probably won't happen at all:-(
