I don't think BHop is smarter than Mayweather in the ring. I've seen many fights in which he has failed to make the necessary adjustments.

I also don't feel Mosley is the dumbest. Though he gets caught in his format too often and has difficulty ad******g, I have seen some fights in which he was able adapt. That man just needs a good corner.

When I think dumbest, I think of the Ricky Hatton that fought Pacquiao.

TBH, I think that every opponent who gasses early has a low ring IQ.


About the boxers who have high ring IQ its hard to pick the one. Almost every great fighter had or has a very high ring IQ.

 

High ring IQ and Pac will never be used in the same sentence. Pac's corner is great at implementing game plans, big difference there, and Pac excutes them. But he's not a thinking man's fighter. You don't see him setting traps and out thinking guys in the ring.

If we were to judge his IQ based on his awkward style in the ring, i'd agree with you. Cause his flaws are really there to exploit. BUT! the beauty of it is his opponents already know his weaknesses and still they seem lost when they get in the ring with him. Einstein was never considered a bright student, he never conformed to traditional education. But he was a genius, and it showed on what he's done for science. Hence, why Purist like the mayweathers and hopkins of the boxing world, They give us a sound basis which is the basic fundamentals of boxing, while some prefer the eccentrics and i think that's where Pac should be categorized.
