Latino, in this context, means no more than the word "slav" or "anglo." None of the three preclude someone from being white.

You cannot seem to process this, or admit that his heritage emanates from Spain and not with the indigenuous Amer-Indian tribes of Argentina.

If a person of 100% Swedish heritage was born in Mexico, you'd be saying he's a "Latino" and therefore he isn't white.

I'm not talking about soccer... this is boxing. At best most of this sport based on nationality. Did you see Trinidad fight? Do you think people cared in Puerto Rico if he was black or not? No! It's nationality that they care about. Mostly in America do we find a need to categorize people by race so badly do to our history.

Yes he fights for money, he is a prizefighter. But he would say, much like any boxer who has pride in their country, that he fights for his country.

Also I didn't say America invented race or racism. It has a special kind of identification with it, which very different from other places around the world due to its history. For example, this is very simple, most minorities in America do not call themselves American as they have no pride in it. They claim where their descendants came from.

First of all latinos don't have to rely on hope because they already have some of the best fighters in the world, Mexicans, PRicans, Colombians ect. Second of all after Martinez destroyed Williams he said in the post fight interview, "this fight is for Argentina and for all LATINOS"...so if anyone thinks they know more about him than he does himself well...what can I tell you.
