:good Yup. I felt that Pavlik would have blown Kirkland out prior to the kid's unexpected loss this past weekend.
Getting blown out of the ring in one round by a feather-fisted japanese journeyman is not a fluke and it wasn't a bad stoppage, Kirkland was wobbled 7 or 8 times and on the canvas 3 times in just over a minute, why should have it been allowed to continue? Because Kirkland was supposed to win? Pavlik would destroy Kirkland.
I too think the stoppage was early, but Kirkland doesnt hit harder then Edison Miranda. And Miranda is, if only because hes bigger, a better fighter too.
Well, at 160 Kelly would be weight drained and Kirkland should have his inner ear infection under control by then.......
Pavlik would have to be drained to make 160 but the spirit of this topic was that they'd be fighting together at an ideal weight. Clearly Pavlik kills Kirkland though
Who in their right mind would believe that Kirkland hits harder than Miranda? Edison has always had a lot of flaws, but that does not change the fact that he flattens opponents with one shot power. Nor does all the revisionist history change the fact that Miranda was considered the Godzilla of the middleweight division back in 2007. HBO picked Pavlik as an opponent that would make Miranda look good, and the Vegas odds were 2:1 in favor of Pantera! KP damn near beat the black off Miranda, and the poor ******* hasn't been the same since. As far as a Pavlik/Kirkland fight, this fight would make Kelly look like the love child of Willie Pep and King Kong. KP is the naturally bigger man, and he does absolutely everything better than James. In addition, Pav has a really good chin. Kirkland's chin is . . . . . . well . . . . . questionable.
