Obviously Collazo has just had almost a 2 year layoff, and to keep it alot more interesting, Berto would need to defeat Ortiz (which I picked Ortiz in that one :smoke), but I think Berto vs Collazo 2 would still be interesting.

Barring the fact Collazo apparently can't make 147 any longer, does anyone else care to see the rematch if both fighters keep without a loss leading up to it, preferably at 154, even a cw of 150 if need be?

Collazo cant make 147 anymore. So no, I doubt we'll see a Berto rematch.

Would absolutely love to see Collazo vs Cotto however. I think Collazo is one of the most avoided and underrated active fighters.

Collazo should take out Spadafora ASAP and make himself the #1 southpaw opponent for May's "tune-up".

I don't think Berto is going to be in any hury to move to 154, he'd make more money facing some of the big names moving up from 140 like Khan, Bradley, Madaina, etc not too mention he is still on the shortlist for Mayweather and Pacquaio.

Collazo fits right in at 154, there are a lot of solid fighters in that division who would make for competitive fights with each other. I'd like to see Collazo face someone like Williams, Cintron, Angulo, or even Margarito.

I don't think we get a Berto-Collazo rematch anytime soon. Both seem to have plenty of other options that don't include each other. If Berto loses to Ortiz and decides to move to 154 then a Collazo rematch could be possible but as long as Berto hols that title he should have plenty of other options at welterweight.

Oh I didn't even know he came back thanks. I couldn't even find his fight on youtube and heard nothing of his comeback. Pretty underrated and if focused I think he'll just stay a high risk low reward kind of fighter.

Yea hopefully he took care of himself while he was away, because he is still only 29 with alot of experience.

I figure if team berto show no interest in a rematch (which I don't expect they will, this thread is simply wishful thinking), and Collazo has a few more tune-ups and keeps winning, he'll find himself in a eliminator at least

On paper a win over Spadafora would look great, and deff only help get him closer to something big no doubt.

But I doubt Mayweather would take a resurgant Collazo as a tune-up, he's proven too dangerous for just a rust brush off fight imo.

Mayweather facing Spadafora as a tune-up is the type of fight I figured May would go for before the Pacquaio clash.

Now that Berto has lost, what are thoughts on the odds of this rematch happening?

We should see this rematch late this year.

I'm obviously hoping so. Both fighters need a good win to get look at for a title shot (Collazo more so imo), and both fighters would look good on a resume.

I figure Berto will want to take a get well win before this one though, if it were to happen.
