HOLD ON, Hold on, hold'n.... Am I missing something in here, or are some ppl confused about the hall??? Maybe its just me, but from what I understand, entrance to the hall is not just based on your pro record but on anything that contributes in an unusual and positive fashion to the greatness of the sport... and that, my friends, Gatti diD!!

Not to mention like other ppl stated, he was involved in not 1 or 2, but THREE:admin fights of the year... if that doesn't make it 4 u then u may want to consider that other ppl like commentators, managers, promoters, etc. are in the hall as well..... ANYBODY that made a great contribution is, AND should be in!! For Gatti, that should be in the first try!!!!

Although i dont think he was even close to being a great fighter.. I think he should get in,... Bottom line he is one of the most exciting fighters in history, and put up not just a couple great fights, but numerous.. He was never close to being even a top 10 pfp guy, but he did win a couple titles in different divisions.. Even though he got butchered when facing elite guys, , he does have some very impressiive wins over former champs... Even if he was still alive i think he would eventualy get in, but after his tragic death im sure, htis will speed up his induction.... Dont think he gets in first ballot but he will get in the next 5 to 10 years.

I disagree the rules are more lenient. Gatti was going to get in no matter what.

He provided fans with what most people want to see the sport for. EXCITING fights. He brought them that when he won or lost. He brought them drama. He will always be remembered. It's funny how Pac and Mayweather are very known but Gatti is as well. I'll tell you what, I would rather watch Gatti fight in one of his exciting fight than Mayweather more days of the week than not.

One might say why does Gatti get in for being exciting.. When guys lke Emanuel Augustus, mickey Ward,Omar Sheika,Merqui Soa etc etc will never get in...

Difference was ,that for as flawed as Gatti could be .. He was also a mulitple world champion and had some big wins over good fighters... He might not have beaten greats but he could beat (or at least be dangerous) to all but the elite.

Gatti, I believe will eventually be inducted, as for greatness he is certainly not among the elite, however it's my believe that very fine fighters are just as worthy. Boxing is littered with great fighters past and present, and among the top, the very top, the gap is not so wide!

He's not an ATG but I think for the great fights and the many fight of the years he was involved in he should get in the Hall of Fame without any problems.

    What ist All Time Greatnes?
Only Title Belts and big wins? Or the memory of big fights, of legendary nights whit wars and blood? Gatti is one of the biggest names in boxing. I think, he ist more Great than a lot of unbeaten champions.

Sentimental favourites always get the nod. Plus he is Italian-American.

There are more worthy fighters whan he is but HOF sometimes is not about that.

Maybe not this year but he will be remembered for a long long time and eventually he will get in. I would not be surprised if Ward was to get in.
