Shitty refereeing in Khan-Mcloskey Shitty refereeing in Berto-Ortiz Shitty refereeing in Juan-Ma-Salido Discuss
The Khan fight was too boring. I barely remember the ref. The ref in Berto-Ortiz was definately over-officiating that fight; even Merchant pointed it out. The stoppage in the JML was not a good one; not one of the worst I have ever seen but definately a bad timing for the stoppage.
With Khan-Mcloskey it wasn't the ref, it was the doctor. With Ortiz-Berto, I felt the ref did nothing wrong and called a good fight, despite Larry Merchant trying to convince us that he was terrible. With JuanMa-Solido, that stoppage was ****ing rediculous in my opinion. He stopped the fight after JuanMa landed a two punch combo. I understand that JuanMa was really hurt, but you can't stop the fight when the guy is still throwing, and LANDING punches the way JuanMa was.
Juama was fighting on instinct and he wasnt deflecting anything. He was taking a lot of flush hard punches. He was moments away from being legitimately kod.
In your opinion, perhaps, but due to the stoppage, that's something we will never know. Personally, I thought it was a little strange to step in straight after a combo from Lopez, and I would agree that it hasn't been a great day for officiating. Even so, the ref in the Katsidis fight last week was absolutely dreadful and far worse than anything we've seen this week.
Juanma was just standing by his cojones, but he was absorving too much punishment. Hard to admit it, because he always had the heart to turn adversity into victory, but today he was getting hurt and still a few rds to go.
The stoppage was fine, we are clamoring for the ref head, but if he left the massacre keep on going And Juanma gets seriously hurt, then we will b mourning.
I can see why people would you would it was a quick stoppage, but every punch that was landing was flush and Juanma made no attempt to hold or cover up. It could have gone on another punch or two, but Salido was in complete control and it could have ended Juanmas career. Plus yopu have to consider the damage he had taken in the last 2 rounds. The ref can see things that we cant and this is one of those cases that you just have to trust his discretion. There was something he saw that he didnt like, better one punch too soon.
Salido was in the verge of knocking Juan Ma out and I am a big fan of Lopez. Juan Ma was just throwing arm punches and you know 1 punch is all it takes to give someone a brain dmg. Besides the score was 66-66 and the tide was turning into Salido's favor. I didn't see Juan Ma's corner protesting. It was a good stoppage to protect the fighter.
This...^ The refing tonight was awful. If I ever seen any of these *ssholes or Joe Cortez again it will be to soon...
