He is gonna fight Marquez next and call himself great and ready if he beats a smaller guy again... and people are gonna call him the strongest puncher ever.

    BS....

Juanma gets owned again, and young Marquez would tap that ass with ease.

Lopez has zero defense. He has been exposed. Gamboa would destroy JuanMa.

No rematch needed here. Not now at least. Juanma needs to learn some defense... he has zero defense and at this part of his career I don't think if he'll be able to, even if he changes corners or changes wife....... Anyways, I was rooting for him but not surprised he lost since I've been saying all along he was a ko waiting to happen / hype ... sad part it was against a guy w/11 L's in his rec.... Seriously, can't remember a 'Rican fighter for which I didn't feel bad the next day after he lost his title... not at this level at least..

Pretty much how it is in just 1 sentence. Feel bad 4 Gamboa (the only cuban with somereal potential) though. I think he deserved the payday. I'd give anything to see his face last night after the fight. Bye-bye rich payday!

I disagree a rematch is what needs to take place... Juanma personal problems and constant media was a clear distraction. To say it was one sided is bs. Even though Juanma was being wreckless and not the same, he was still winning some rounds and even was able to hurt Salido at times even with a weak camp. With his mind clear and the right training, things could turn out different. This was a good wake up call for him. I call it months before, the marriage problems and constant media was going to be very tough on Juanma.

How could you not be interested in a rematch?

My only concern is that it's so far away. Lopez could use a tune up in between.

Wouldn't mind a rematch but doesn't need to happen now. As previous posters have said he needs to work on his defense.. Too willing to trade and fight while hurt and I see the same happening.

So, lets say if Juanma would of won a "close" or "controversial" fight or even by KO, would Arum be in a hurry to make a rematch with Salido?

The word 'exposed' is once again being thrown around too lightly. Juanma is young and strong and there is no shame to losing to veteran. He does have holes in his game, but so what? Makes for better fights. Can't believe people are completely writing him off...typical.

Put me down for the rematch camp. Juanma's defense isn't going to improve blasting out no-hopers in under five rounds. Salido is solid but not the second coming of Sal Sanchez or anything. If Lopez really can't beat that level of fighter in a rematch where he is fully focused, then it's time to go back to square one. He looked awful last night, but guys have bounced back from worse.

The fight was not close enough for a rematch let's Juanma regroup and put his life in order another lost to Salido could be a career ending for him he does not match well with Salido.
