Just wait a year and it can happen at 147 after Khan unifies

Full WW suited Ortiz better. He was heavier during the weigh-in and fight night, so his physical disadvantage became an advantage plus he seemed fresher in his new division, which made the difference both physically and mentally. Don't think he can or should go back down to a catchweight, and he said he's planning no such thing. He's a full-grown welterweight now.

I think Ortiz questioned his own ability before this fight but the prospect of winner tempted him to fight. Like they say you never trully realise your own ability till you push your self that extra 5% which he did. But what a brilliant fight it was!

GBP would let that one gain momentum first (by having Ortiz and Khan fight multiple opponents) so that when the time comes it'll be an inhouse unification at 147, maybe a year or a year and a half away.

If Khan gets past Bradley and does make a step towards 147 providing Ortiz is still a champion , this fight would be made in a heart beat

For the Khan-Bradley winner, Ortis will be the gate keeper to welterweight.

Golden Boy is slowly taking the baton back from Arum's Top Rank.
They have the younger talent & vets that Bob's going to need.
(Arum is running out of in-house fights)

Once Pac either gets beatdown or he decides to retire (Which is sooner than later)
TR is in trouble, Unless either Donaire & or Chavez Jr. Become PPV stars.

TR have Benavidez, Mikey Garcia, Gamboa, JuanMa (he will come back :yep), Rios, Segura and a few other prospects.

Anyway...I'd expect Khan-Ortiz in a year or so. Khan is taking about moving up to 147 and this is the perfect in-house fight for GBP.

Ortiz looked ripped in that fight. He has always come in fit, but that was something different. This is why boxing should test. Great fight though.

Dont know about that, he had nothing like the muscle definition of Berto.
