Who is Vitali's greatest Win?

I agree Vitali is an ATG but fighters like Peter and the fat mexican are taylor made for Vitali

 

I dont rate his victory over Sanders, who is very good at golf it must be said.

Vitali EVT6 Lewis is by far his biggest victory.

I have never been a fan of him or his brother. It should also be brought up in every thread like this that he failed a steroid test when in the Ukranian olympic squad, quit on his stool & is far from the invincible super-hero his fans proclaim him to be in every thread involving either brother.

 

Best win for me was against Peter after a 4 year retirement with no tune-up. This was a Peter coming off a fairly impressive TKO win against Oleg Maskaev, who had just beaten Rahman by TKO for the second time.

Perspective people!

My favorite win, and I surprised no one said it yet, is Kirk Johnson. The winner gets a guaranteed shot against either Lewis or he gets to fight for the vacant title if Lewis retires. Johnson had knocked out Oleg Maskaev and looked fairly impressive speed wise & power wise. VK took him out in 2 rounds...................that was ****in' impressive.

 

I think we all agree that Vitali don't have any wins over any fantastic opponents, but in my opinion, what does qualify Vitali for all time greatness is the means with which he DOMINATES EVERY SINGLE FIGHTER................at almost 40 now, and STILL barely loses a round.

The guy is head and shoulders above EVERYone he faces, and he proves it EVERY time. :good


So with Vitali, his claim to fame is his consistent dominance, plain and simple.

 

He's not a superhero but he is quite superhuman. So is Pac, Floyd, and many others but he's not just an awkward robot either. He has very fast, accurate counters, and a very unique style that's a throwback to his kickboxing days.

He failed a drug test back in his am. days, not as a pro. He's never tested positive since & he doesn't look the type to be juicing either. I believe it was the same or similar to the drug Toney was caught cheating with as a pro. Both Toney & Vitali claimed that the drug was to speed the healing of an injury................take that any way you want, but that's the whole truth.

 

Oh, and Corrie Sanders was a much more successful boxer than he was a golfer. That's just being a troll...................

Agreed with this strongly. Vitali made Peter look stupid, even after that long layoff. And back then (wow that was long ago) Rahman & Maskaev were top crop, so Peter's win over him (oleg) was pretty decent. vitali 4 yr layoff, destroys!

 

The guy lost 4 years of his Prime. His comeback has been remarkable and other than George Foreman nobody in the History of the Division has done what he has after such a long layoff. Shitty competition or not that is a very good accomplishment. He has beaten people 9 years younger than him for every round time and time again.

Wow! It's almost like the Ali/ Frazier/ Foreman triangle isn't it?!!!

 

He already is on the cusp of the top 20 or in it and if he beats Adamek and Povetkin/Haye in the next year he will move up far higher. Yes his brother has a better win resume I agree on that, those 4 years have cost Vitali a chance of becoming on of top 5 best HW's of all time.

 

Thats the sort of comment I have a problem with. On pure talent & skill Vitali is nowhere remotely close to any of the top-level guys. If thats what you see when you watch him then we'll have to disagree.

Every person who fails a steroid test says the same thing, sadly Vit along with a lot of other world champs sits in that bracket. Thats the whole truth (as I understand it)

Thanks. Let me add that Peter did have his moments against Wladimir & he beat James Toney TWICE, better the second time.

Now Peter might be more of a gatekeeper but he's a pretty bad ass gatekeeper at that. Back then he was a confident new champion.
