It's apparently quite easy to overlook the skills of fighters in black and white film. You can't see Marciano's skills but the results are plain whether you can see how he got the results or not. A faded Ezzard Charles has far higher ring IQ than Adamek. I assure you. A faded Walcott has far higher ring IQ than Adamek, I assure you. Even a very, very faded Joe Louis has a higher ring IQ than Adamek and was still capable of beating up the Maddalones of that time. Do you think Marciano was only out-muscling these fighters while operating on ring intelligence that Adamek puts to shame? If so, stop watching boxing now or commit to watching much more. Please. Strength alone does not win fights like that. Marciano was no dumb brute. He had an awkward craftiness to accompany his strength and grit. This is certain.

I command you with the power vested in me by Sugar Nicky V to stop watching boxing and not even attempt to learn anything else. Hockey will be your game. Now go. Go and try hockey.

I don't trust that a heavyweight Adamek is better than La Starza at all, personally.

Christ, Tom Adamek at 217 solid heavyweight pounds here in '11 is much bigger, stronger and very well skilled for a man who has gone up from 175 from way back..... I see Adamek schooling LaStarza easily over 10 rds in a time zone / machine....

Marciano would've killed him, Adamek while talented isn't slick or powerful enough to hang with Rocky.

Marciano by KO no problem. Lets not forget the man had iron will, he never lost and when faced with losing he KTFO guys, like when his nose was ripped up the side, one round the ref gave him, KTFO Ezzard Charles, down against Walcott on points late, KTFO Walcott. No way Adamek wins that fight, he'd have a better chance at 190 than 217 in my opinion, a beefed up 217 Adamek is even easier to hit for the smaller Marciano. I like Adamek but c'mon. Marciano KO 4.

Let's not forget, Adamek's career is not over so its too soon to judge. Let's see what you nay sayers say once Adamek is polishing his 3rd weight category belt.
