Ortiz vs Maidana 2 at 147?

Ortiz wins in 2 rounds. I just feel Maidana struggles with anyone who has lateral movement and the speed and power of Ortiz plus the aggression and explosive short punches would be to much for him and i think he'd stop Maidana. Not based on his poor showing with Morales but i think he's vulnerable and he was pushed back at times by a man who spent most of career at lower weights and has in other bouts in brief exchanges. I feel Ortiz has matured a bit mentally as well as physically and he can't help but hurt his opponents.

Maidana walks into range so there's no way Ortiz would pass up opportunity to land on him with his ammo.

I think the Maidana fight bothered him because he couldn't stop this guy coming forward and when he hurt him...Maidana would hurt him back. It was a immature display and his interview after said to me it was a guy not 100% wanting to win and become champion just content with life. Things have changed and he's no longer a boy.

He has nothing to fear but obviously easier said then done.

 

That's a bit shitty alright, with all the top fights he's given them, they should be treating him better than any of their champions.

 

Defo should be made, i will go with Ortiz, overal Ortiz much better fighter then Maidana

 

I'm not sure, the demons are still there for Ortiz. Saturday was the first time he was seemingly back to his ok'd self. But put him in with the guy who broke his heart first time round and I think they'll reappear. It's a shame because Ortiz is much the better operator. While I'll think he'd win, (as he was winning their first fight) I don't say it with any degree of conviction.

 

I don't see him making the same mistake twice, he got caught by a puncher, but he can outbox or give Maidana a beating if he pressures intelligently. He showed his mantle in round 6 too, so I think he's tougher now. He should take this fight for his own piece of mind

 

pretty sure Maidana has made a few million for the 3 fights hes been treated like ****.

Maidana vs Ortiz 2 is a very attractive fight always has been.

Maidana vs Katsidis July 30th
Ortiz vs Maidana November.

 

Its a fight that can be sold, but Ortiz should win this easily if he uses his brain because Maidana is ****. Seriously a massivly overated fighter. Hes one of the biggest 1 trick ponies ever. He is famous for being the guy Ortiz quit against when he should never have lost and the dude that had the shittest chin in boxing, Khan, rocking for 3 minutes and followed him about clumsily throwing looping punches and only beat Morales because he got tired in 11 and 12


Ortiz doesnt jab though, and as a agressive southpaw will always be in exchanges and thus vulnerable. Sure makes for sweet fights tho!
