I like EM's feinting to punch with his right hand, and then punching with his left. He did it twice against Maidana, of course he also do this in his other fights.
A Morales signature move. The Maidana fight also reminded me that no one weathers a storm better than Morales. Morales would prolly be my favorite all time fighter, but have many of you guys seen the footage of Valero giving him more than he can handle in sparring. I haven't seen it in years but it left an impression.
I loved the way despite looking rusty as **** early on he was loose as hell defensively and was rolling with everything Maidana threw. The hopeless commentators would be going crazy screaming about twenty unanswered punches from Maidana and none of them would have come close to hurting him because he either avoided or took the sting off all of them making Maidana and the commentary team look amateurish.
I loved the huge feint he did near the end of the fight. He did this huge exaggerated movement with his right as if he was going to go for a big overhand, then caught Maidana with a left. I just about burst out laughing that he fell for that. Erik lost the round, but damn was that a moment.
I haven't seen it, but would love too. Erik is one of my all time favorites to watch, and Valero was also a big favorite of mine.
Morales feint, turning ability while counter punching, chin, the nice 1,2 that he can throw the 2 delayed or overhand is Morales's bread and butter.
It shoudl still be on youtube. I was impressed by what Valero showed in the ring during sparring but in a real fight you saw a completely different fighter. He didnt show those skills at all.
Nice move I noticed it to. Morales always preffered that straight right to the body, I wish he would throw left hooks downstairs more in his career. Still did alright though
the uppercut/overhand or overhand/uppercut combo must be popular in mex becuase jmm uses it to great effect
