How good are our Heavyweights?

Eurpean level at best.

 

Not sure there is such a thing as Euro level in the HW Scene, the World class talent is so scarce

Dont think any can win belts but could possibly get the odd title shot

 

Very talented in some respects - but incredibly untalented in too many

Although at heavyweight at the moment all someone needs at the moment is a good chin, decent stamina and a decent punch. who knows, maybe Dallas or Chiora can take a great shot and go onto better things.

Williams is probably too much for them. He could punch Danny and would be too tough and resilient for all of them imo. Any man who takes 8 rounds of savage abuse from Vitali and goes out on his shield deserves respect

 

I think Danny Williams in his prime would beat them all, I think Price would give him the hardest time but I think Danny could knock him out at any point with a big shot

 

Well you say Euro level but I wouldnt be surprised if Price Fury and Chisora all got title shots at some point. Its a much better outlook than the Americans coming through which is more damning on them than praising of out talent.

I would say that Euro level is THE level now i don't know how they will fare in the aftermath of Klits and Haye because the scene will become very disjointed again. If any of them can capture a title they will be in for big bucks as they are 10x more marketable than the big Euro heavies.

 

Possibly a better stable of HW's than the yanks, it's pretty close it seems to me.

 

Yours are better. That is not saying that we don't have anyone who might catch up, but a lot of our guys are ex-footballers and basketballers who discover their love for boxing late in life when they are kicked of the team or whatever.

Fury, Chisora, Price, Dallas and Towers are a better lot that than Wilder, Hammer, Mitchell, Darrel Madison, Joe Hanks, etc. But again, its close and hard to say who is going to develope better.

To be honest, I don't think either crew is as good as Helenius, Glazkov, Pulev, Abdulsalamov or Boytsov, so the Continental Europeans win it. Noy sure what some of these guys mean by "Euro level."

 

I know it's nuts, there is about 50 very good European fighters about now who would give anybody a tough fight. The fact that Helenius and Dimitrenko hold European belts just goes to show how strong the pool is. It seems quite a few people use the term Euro level like it still 1988, they seem to have forgotten almost a whole continent has opened up after the fall of the Soviet union. Gone are the days of scrawny bums like Henry Cooper being considered European supermen boxers.

 

Don't count out Sexton in all this. He took the Chisora fight at the wrong time after being out for a whole year and all the problems he had with his mum. Not the best move to come back to a fight like that over 12 rounds. Still think he will be the top dog in a years time as hes still young and has the best jab of them all. Hear he's on the O2 show and good luck to him, cant wait to see him back. To go to Belfast twice and come good was something no one else would have done. Watch this space.........

 

Sam had a monster training camp for the second Chisora fight and looked ready. Face it mate, Sexton just isn't that good.

World class?.....Fury ( The New Audley ) will without doubt get sparked out by the first person who can get inside him and has a dig on them. McDermott ( even with a sports bra ) nearly did it. Price will crumble as soon as he has someone who sinks their fists into those ribs of his. Chisora will collapse and be sparked by the first person who can keep up with his roughhouse tactics in late championship rounds, or he will walk onto a peach of an overhand or uppercut when he throws himself into a combination ( Sprott would beat Chisora as things stand now! ). Sexton had issues both times hes fought Chisora...but fair enough he's lost twice, but I still think he'll be there at the end.
