i havnt had too many favorites id liked tito, and gomez, benitez but my all time favorite rican is gomez, and cotto is the only guy i had lots of love for like gomez, like his personality reserved, and quiet, his attittude, a dominant warrior that yet in his losses has gotten to the later rounds, one of the best left hooks in boxing, willing to face anyone reguardless, i think he deserves to be in the HOF...

According to Steward....Cotto said, " I've never been hit like that where the punches really hurt"

My opinion is that Margarita is a cheating ******* and will get his comupence in the rematch!!!

Miguel will be inducted into the HOF because of the poor standards for those institutions at this time and the poor standards of the media.

Miguel is not a HOF fighter. Cotto's best win came in an extremely close fight (which he did win) against an old Mosley.

Are u telling me Cotto is a better fighter or has a better resume than say Camacho, and even Camacho is a borderline HOF guy IMO.

I agree with Camacho, but not Cotto.

But he will get in I suspect.

He might not get in so easy if he loses badly to Margo at 154lb though.

Cotto's career was handled to damn near perfection. He beat the hell out of guys who were 10-15 pounds smaller than him at Jr. Welterweight for a few years, had to hit Judah in the nuts to win, and beat an old SSM. They cashed him out at the right time, and he still has time to make more money.

Cummon man, people keep saying he beat a old SSM, forgetting that same old shot Mosley beat Margorito (the man believed to be the best WW at the tym!) Stop trying to discredit the mans win, he beat a Mosley who was competitive BUT still lost...

    Ok Ace.
Name anopther fighter from our era with the type of resume Cotto has at 140-147.

He has the best record hands down from 140-147. He goes in the HOF first ballot and it will be easy.

I think he and Margo have great resumes at WW.

Cotto IMO is a fighter who suffered from not changing trainers sooner than he did. I always wanted to see him make a change even before the Margo fight. I think it was the Shane Mosley fight.

Will he go into the Hall of fame?? I think he has a very good shot. His career is not even finished yet but i dont like the Margo rematch for him at all.

I think he is bette off with Steward than Evangelista.

My pick would have been one of the Mayweathers. Jeff or Floyd.
Cotto uses the philly as a defense. Its a ghetto philly though and the Mayweathers have perfected it. Cottos offense other than his lack of right hand is pretty solid. His D is not and thats his biggest problem.

:thumbsup, he seemed defense orientated in the mayorga fight, im worried what he will do when he lands and margarito smiles it off and keeps coming, best way is to clinch, I saw him do it a few times last fight, I guess moving like pac would be best but I doubt he can hold it up for 12 rounds, if he clinches and fights smart he can definitely win a 8-4/7-5 type decision I think.

Just do not see him beating Margo at all. Its just wrong for him.
Specially at 154. Margo will be what 165-170 on fight night. His chin is still in tact judgin from the Pac fight. Stamina is still top notch and his power is still there.

Margo walks him down and brings Cotto bad memories causing him to fold even sooner.

People here want to talk about an old shane mosley...to think mosley is the same now as he was 6 years ago or even when floyd fought him is crazy, even now he prolly put a whoopin on every other fighter at 147. Another thing to consider is the ammount of fights cotto trained himself for because of all the issues he had with his uncle, so a change of trainer sooner would have made a bigger impact...its sad to say but Arum its cashing out cotto on this rematch with margarito, win or loose it gona be a tough TOUGH fight. WAR COTTO

definitely agree, and don't forget the pacquiao defeat was also flawed due to tampering with weight:lol:
