Great news. Hopefully there might be someone else to challenge GSP after Shields. and there's a nice cooling period before Penn/Fitch II, or it might not even happen, which I honestly wouldn't lose any sleep over. As long as Fitch isn't in the picture, I'm a happy guy.

So he might not fight until 2012. :happy

I have no hatred for Fitch or wish him any harm and am not happy he's gotten injured and isn't able to do what he loves, I feel sorry for him, but it's good for the Welterweight division in my opinion. If GSP does decide not to go up to MW soon, I'd hate to see him have to stick around to fight BJ Penn or Fitch again. This freshens things up.

Even though I know Fitch is a bit boring and will go to a decision, I'm still intrigued to watch him fight the likes of Alves and BJ. I think a grinder is one of the hardest fighters to overcome in boxing or MMA and more talented fighters lose to them so they intrigue me.

I don't know why you're so excited. They wouldn't have given Fitch the next title shot anyway. He was scheduled to rematch Penn. They're going to make Fitch Jump through as many hopes as possible before he gets another title shot if that ever happens.

So uhh alves vs penn and the winner gets a title shot? :nut

**** it make gsp vs diaz next if shields can't get the job done.

    UFC champion vs Strikeforce Champion

Well I'm not going to give up hope that GSP is moving up in weight - so perhaps four man tournament; Diaz vs. Penn and Condit vs. Alves? Would also get rid of that silly Condit vs. DKH match which really leaves me cold for some reason.

That would be a good tournament but since diaz is the strikeforce champ let him have condit instead of penn.

I know penn vs alves looks like a mismatch but i think penn beats diaz and i really want to see diaz vs gsp:lol:

Diaz could probably handle alves with his striking. I could see him winning a decision.

why not give him nate marquart? or Dong Hyun Kim who IMO is a pretty good fighter.
if nate would go up against gsp and prolly lose then it would be more interesting to hear from him who was the most of a challange between silva and gsp

@ 185? i think marquardt will be too much for gsp. Now if marquardt is go down to 170 then it would be a lil more interesting to see.
