Would have been a happy if Kotelnik managed to get the nod.
Looks like Don King is going to let him rot on the shelf as punishment for exposing DA.

Maybe if McCLoskey turned up and fought and made a show of it things would be better, He just turned up and did **** all asked for a rematch which is not happening and his old belt is vacated. So yeah he got a raw deal but he got a world title shot and just blew it!

McCloskey is a counterpuncher and was doing exactly what he should've been. Khan was tiring himself out and throwing his pitterpatter punches and really, wasn't landing as much as it seemed. McCloskey was using a shoulder defense, Malignaggi has the same trick, as does Froch. It looks like they're getting hit but it's not clean. The fight was just warming up, McCloskey'd be foolish to go all out just because it's a world title fight. He should've brought his best gameplan to the table which we'll never know if it would've failed.

This is boxing, not everyone has to make a fight of it, and there's 12 rounds to do your job. As long as you're not being hurt or have a career threatening injury or cut, you don't stop the fight, especially if it's a world title fight.

If its a world title fight you should try and win every way and anyway you can from the opening bell to the closing bell, Win on scorecards, win via KO, make the other guy quit do whatever it takes. What you dont do is what Paul McCloskey was doing, Throwing away the fight and loosing each and every round, This plan of loosing all 11 rounds and then getting a miracle punch is just laughable, If the fight went on it would have been a shut out landslide points victory for Khan or a stoppage.

Also this "pitter patter punches" that you are talking about, Joe Calzaghe was also accused of doing that, Just throwing 100 punches a round and winning rounds, McCloskey did make Khan miss but he was unable to make Khan pay. Hit and dont be hit, Not dont be hit and dont hit.

Either way the whole fight was a joke the promotion and everything from start to finish has been a joke, The ramifications of the fight are still going on today, How will McCloskey beat Shafikov if he wins? I doubt the WBA would let Paul within a mile of thier belts after that shitty performance.

to counter punch you actually have to throw a shot.
