Yeah, he beats Dempsey,Marciano, and a whole host of champs from thatb era and before.

Like I said,its nonsense to compare like with like when comparing different generations. Babe Ruth couldnt compete in this era of baseball,but is still rightly considered a legend.

Jesse Owens is one of the greatest athletes of all time despite the fact that he wouldnt even be a top collegiate sprinter in the modern era.

 

He could beat Marciano and Floyd Patterson

 

Haye isn't even a world champion in this era. He has never even beaten one single top ranked heavy. He was simply maneuvered into a phony belt by the boxing mobsters who figured they could make a lot more money with the flamboyant loudmouth than the staid Valuev.

 

Definately at Cruiserweight and most probably at HW. No, he wouldn't have beaten a peak Mike Tyson, but would certainly have had a good chance v Pinklon Thomas, Mike Weaver,Bonecrusher Smith, Frank Bruno etc

Many of the HW greats didnt have to face the tough European fighters that have appeared since the iron curtain has been removed. Many of the greats are very overated and Haye would have no trouble exposing many of them
At CW Haye would always win a world title. Remember Holyfield was fighting alot of blown up LHWs, and Haye would have no trouble with his power.

 

Haye's heavyweight resume is pitiful.

And a sick Valuev at that. Nor did he really beat Valuev. He was just handed a phony decision by hired "judges". The pre-arranged agreement was probably that if Valuev couldn't knock him out they would give the decision to Haye.

I'd also give him a shot against a John Tate or a Trevor Berbick and a peak Ruiz. Can't think of many other routes to a recognised strap. Very good cruiser, jury is still out at heavy. He has fought no one.

 

Sure, why not? He would beat Patterson and if Henry Cooper came close to upsetting Ali...imagine it would have been Haye that night when Ali was overly cocky and got caught. He would have never ruled the division, like Louis, Holmes, Ali, Tyson, Lewis. He probably would not hold a belt for long, but win it? Yes and I don't even like Haye.

 

Haye also beat a gold medalist in Audley Harrison so that cancels out Rahman's win over Lennox. He also won every round against Valuev with a broken hand and Value is like taller than Tua and Toney combined so that wide UD is worth more than to close fights with two short guys.
