Former three division champion Marco Antonio Barrera is on board to fight Erik "El Terrible" Morales for a fourth time. According to Barrera, he was approached by GBP's Oscar De La Hoya, who wanted to inquire if Barrera was interested in such a fight. Barrera told De La Hoya that he was very intrested. The tentative date would be July 30 on pay-per-view. Barrera has a 2-1 edge in the trilogy with Morales.

"I spoke to him in the afternoon and I was asked if I was willing to fight Morales for a fourth time and I said 'yes.' It is a fight that catches my attention. My relationship with Zanfer is based on a verbal deal and I told him that if I got an offer for a big fight, that I would take it, and that was our agreement. I would like to fight by August, but first we have to see what the offer is," said Barrera to Sal Rodriguez.

Going on their recent fights I'd take Morales to level the score if the fourth fight comes off.

I rather see morales vs marquez first then morales-barrera can fight each other before they go to permanent retirment if they want.

Hope not, but I'd settle for...
Barerra Vs. Soto & Morales Vs. J Diaz (Baby Bull)
    (Same card)

    Why not?

Except for the Maidana fight, Barrera's been looking like the fresher and better fighter over their respective last few outings.

You know they'd both be more up for this than for any other opponent - so each would be at the absolute best they're currently capable of being (ie an even better version of Morales than we saw against Maidana, and certainly a better version of Barrera than we've seen since he moved up in weight)

Yeah I rather see marquez morales..

At least El Terrible proved himself in jaw dropping fashion.

****ing hell, you people sure know how to overreact! :patsch

During the stretch of Alfaro/Limond/Lorenzo, everybody agreed that Morales looked shot to **** and that Barrera would pulverize him if they met.

Not that Barrera looked all that good himself, but in his short run against DeJesus & Arias during that same time he looked MUCH BETTER than Morales.

Now all of a sudden he doesn't belong in the ring with Morales because of the Maidana fight? Do you all realize how ******ed you sound?

If Morales was capable of getting "up" for a big event and turning back the clock to look much better than he had in a while, why the **** wouldn't you expect Barrera to similarly elevate his game if they did meet? :deal

Morales in 2010 = looked shitty.

Barrera in 2010 = looked far less shitty.

Morales pumps himself up for the big stage and goes super-saiyan in 2011.

Doesn't it stand to reason that Barrera would pump himself up for Morales and ALSO improve from his 2010 self? :patsch

They should both fight a somewhat game opponent on the same card and if they both win, then why not. It would be fun to watch.

The 2-1 score to MAB has never sat well with me... of course a 3-1 score would be far worse  but sometimes you have to take chances in life to make things right so **** it, why not ?
