Why would Floyd (5'8", 72") fight JMM (5'6.5", 67") but not Martinez (5'10", 75")?

Because Margarito is promoted by TR and is a bigger draw.

PBF said that he weighed 147 at the post fight press conference. He indicated he tried to come in higher (around 152), but that even after eating twice, he could not get up that high.

It's the reality of the situation, period.

Yes Martinez poses some unprecedented stylistic and physical challenges that undoubtedly warrant serious concerns to Pac's chances against him, granted..

However, all of the that would be moot if Martinez was promoted by TR and if he was a respectable draw. Such a proposition poses a reward for all involved that justifies the involved risk..

Because Mayweather isn't a big WW, and Martinez is the #1 160lber. Of course fighting Marquez was wrong but two wrongs don't make a right. I don't blame either Floyd or Manny for not fighting Martinez, there are weight-classes for a reason.

No, he's five eight. Exactly like me. He has a small small frame, narrow in the hips, but I looked him eye to eye. People remember me as being shorter than 5'8'', but I am.

We were eye to eye. But yeah, he's small.

This is me next to Brian Villoria. Floyd would be that much taller than him, too. I saw Floyd right before the Gatti fight a few times, at 140, and there wasn't any physical size difference in our shoulders.

That's a pile of bollocks. Mayweather was 152 in the ring vs Marquez, as confirmed by The Ring magazine, and he looked bigger than that vs Mosley. In fact, he looked as big as Mosley and Mosley never weighs less than 155 for a welterweight fight. Why do you think Floyd refuses to be weighed on fightnight?
