I of course meat 'defensively sound'. Although really he's just started to implement basic defensive techniques, it shows how wild he was before that people have got psyched at the simple act of a fighter raising his hands to defend himself

 

Not so long ago people were saying Khan wouldn't win a title and that his career was over after the Prescott fight, there was even an Oisin ***an Express thread apparently set to finally derail Khan's career. I think he will surprise a few people against Bradley and win via headbutt.

i mean i remember in the ***an fight i saw CLEAR NOTICEABLE improvements he made working with roach but people were telling no he was the same as ever, he'll get starched etc etc.

 

No, some people just thought showig improvements against the likes of ***an meant **** all in the grand scheme of things. Nor did a win over a Barrera way out of his best weight and no punchers chance. Kotelnik was a quality win, that proved he was an 'Elite' level fighter, but outworking someone with your handspeed when there's little danger coming the other way means the likes of Paulie and Kotelnik were dominant wins but didn't necessarily show a distinct technical improvement. I think he has undeniably 'tuned' his style of fighting; he's in better shape, and now knows how to hold his hands up and to backtrack when he's seriously hurt (no,****) but he's still the same one dimensional fighter.

A great one dimension, NO DOUBT! And I love watching Khan fight. He has balls the size of boulders, and isn't scared of a ruck (a bit wiser about it now it seems, lucky Maidana is a sloppy finisher though) and you HAVE to admire him for that.

But I'm not convinced his style is that formidable that he is going to wkn because he should win, I try hard not to let hope get into my analysis.

He is one dimensional. And seemingly not the kinda' fighter who is possible of making an adjustment. As well as being quite vulnerable as well.

Not the kind of things you find amongst a fighters attributes when they've had a lot of success. Which leads me to believe that Khan won't go on to top what he's already achieved, I could see him beating Bradley...it would be shocking IMO, but as I say, if he can dazzle the judges with his flurries enough if he CAN take Bradleys shots consisentpy there's a chance he could win a decision.

More likely he looks more ragged than ever (coming forward he's playing into Bradleys game and giving him opportunities to counter and look good, something Alexander didn't allow him to do) and gets stopped late (not probably IMO) or loses a fairly wide decision, 8-4 or summat.

It will be highly competitive action no doubt IMO, I just see Bradley having more at his disposal, and being the more durable fighter. I take sturdy and well-rounded over vulnerable and one dimensional most days of the week, can't see me changing here ;-) :good

Being that Bradley is not a big puncher, I think his snappy rights and mixed assault from mid-range and rough housing on the inside will likely stun and bruise Khan rather than banjo and stop him. Bradley, like Maidana, is no finisher. He is however, more cute offensively, and will lead Khan onto his stiff right counter a fair bit. I think he'd need to
land summat special to take Khan out though, Bradleys pop+good finishing ability would be enough to get rid of Amir IMO.

Khan will be troubled at times, Bradley barely at all by Khans punches IMO, but I would say the safe bet is that it definitely goes the distance. Hopefully it's gets signed ASAP and goes off without a hitch :deal :happy

There are flaws in Khan's over all game, and it is true as long as they remain top fighters will pick up on them and expose those flaws.


Roach needs to keep improving Khan and Khan needs to keep a learning this is the key.

If the mindset is there of I am complete fighter already(which i think is not the case) then we have a big problem. Khan still is only 24yrs old and him and Roach know that he is not the complete fighter, Bradley on the other hand is in his prime and all round a better fighter.

I get the feeling Roach works on thing at a time, fighter at a time, gameplan at a time, prepares you fight at a time, well in this fight he got his work cut out, Khan does need to improve before he faces Bradley, but i am not writing him off just yet at this stage of his career.

 

khan is a ko waiting to happen still, maidans is so poor, no footwork, swings and just getting on by on strength and the division being poor, its a bad era for boxing, pryor and even arguello knocks all these out, maidana hits harder than bradley but nowhere near as accurate and i feel bradley will stop khan late while well ahead on the cards, khan isnt a good proffesional fighter, with his amazing fitness hes boxing a 12x3 amateur fight

Good post Darni. I'm sorry though mate, apart from qulity input, a bit of tidying up and amazing sparring, I'm not quite sure what Roach and Wild Card can do for Amir.

I guess I'm just not big on his boxing I.Q. I'd pike to say he'll mature, but as I say I don't see him having too much longevity.

 

People are over stating this in my opinion. I think Berto was awful in every fight i've seen him. Not suprising Mayweather was there, another easy fight for him to set up and the Americans would have lapped it up..................................watch this space, he won't fight Ortiz!
