his biggest fight was dethroning a small Mosley

What if Mayweather Biggest fight was beating JMM, would he be HOF worthy?

Yes, I definitely think he should be a HOFer.

    Yes.

I rank Wright as highly as I do Mosley and Trinidad, and higher than the likes of Marquez and Calzaghe.

If Wink had got the decisions he deserved against Fernando Vargas and Jermain Taylor, more people would think the same.

Close fight with Hopkins? Hopkins CLEARLY beat him by a good margin. I felt he got robbed against Vargas and Taylor so those are victories in my book. Quartey and Trinidad were done I admit but those were good fights where Wright outclassed both. He should go to the HOF for dominance and being one of the best 154 fighters of recent times but his resume just lacks another big win or two. We also have to take into account how many possible robberies may have happened in his career but beating Vargas, Taylor, and Mosley x2 are solid. It would have been interesting to see him against DLH and Mayorga @ 154 but Wright is HOF bound imo.

I defy anyone to have soberly scored Hopkins-Winky to Hopkins by any more than 2 points. I've seen the fight numerous times and it WAS that close, irrespective of any subsequent memory loss, revision of history, or collective distortion of events.

Yeah, I'd say he gets in, especially given the criteria that the IBHOF is using to include fighters. He was a long-time contender who managed to craft a solid reign and unified against then champion Shane Mosley. He gave Jermain Taylor a tough fight at middleweight, and was competitive in his fight with Hopkins.

That's enough to warrant entry these days, although I suspect it will be a handful of years before he's inducted.

Considering there are many non-greats currently in the IBHOF, Winky will one day make it in. He's the epitome of semi-great.
