Diaz aint gonna box Floyd, he says he would beat Floyd because he would `never lose to a white belt` That comment alone tells me Diaz was talking about a straight up fight (or MMA fight), not a boxing match.
Diaz would **** Cung Le up, if he was losing the striking match on the feet he`d have the option to submit his ass, Cung`s ground game is **** compared to Nick`s.
MMA and boxing are two different sports. Nick has excellent MMA boxing but would probably get lit up if he was facing a legitimate boxer, even past their prime. Nick Diaz is a really good MMA fighter. He doesn't seem to get the respect he deserves since he doesn't fight in the UFC and most MMA fans seem to hate anyone who doesn't fight for Dana White.
True, Diaz has the best shot vs GSP in my view, Id favour him vs any WW except GSP in a 5 rd fight, he gets stronger as the fight goes on, the guy competes in triathalons in between fights, he`s a cardio machine.
Who the **** thinks Nick D has great hands? diaz is known for his bjj. Please dont diss mma if you dont know **** about it. :-( Vargas will eatem btw
They seem to be going fairly light and controlled, but Diaz looks REALLY raw. That dude was smaller and head hunting and still landing like nobody's business. If the dude committed to body punching too? Wow. Diaz better slow down before he goes calling out even faded greats. At his skill level youth and conditioning might not even save him with 8-10oz gloves. In 6 rounds he will be KTFO or a bloody swollen mess.
Diaz is a heck of an MMA fighter, his boxing is good enough for what he does, but he has a long way to go as a professional boxer.
Nick Diaz does? He is the one stating that he can take on Boxing's best or top names. For the record, he does have great (MMA) hands. His jab is a thing of (MMA) beauty. What he doesn't have is an awareness of Boxing fundamentals versus MMA Striking. Most posters in here aren't dismissing Nick's skill or MMA, just Nick's Boxing skill for Boxing. It is just not at the level where he should be calling out former/current elites. I don't want to see Diaz get busted up anymore than I wanted to see James Toney get choked out. It doesn't elevate either combat sport. :good
I thought Froch was slow. That was awful, but its not like Omar could grapple either. Just goes to show that the sports are further apart than they seem.
