It's amazing what happened to Winky after his Hopkins fight. Hopkins said Winky would end up missing and end up on a milk carton and that's exactly what happened. From a top 3-4 P4P man to being irrelevant.

This. He had an offer to fight Pavlik a few years ago for around 800K, and instead declined. That was a very winnable fight for him then, and he could have had the MW crown.

Too inactive the last few years. Good fighter but not going to get that huge payday as his style not appreciated.

Regardless however or whyever the DLH-Winky or Abraham-Winky fights didn't happen, I feel that Winky may have thought he was more than his actual worth. He is one of the best 154 fighters if not the best of recent times but he should've fought DLH or some other big name to help get him out there more. His biggest wins are against a Mosley that should never have moved up from 147 and an out of shape Trinidad. The guy is great I'll give him that but there's no reason for him to pick up unneeded losses at the end of his career he should stay retired. After Hopkins he was and still is irrelevant and he has been inactive for about 3 years so he would be rusty as hell getting back into the ring. He did face Williams but that was like 2 years ago he hasn't done anything since. Damn Hopkins and his reputation of ruining fighters! All jokes aside, Wright should just call it a great career and hang em up. The HOF will be inducting him and there's not anything he can do now to add to his legacy but he will make himself look bad if he fights on ala Jones and Holyfield but I doubt Wright is as shot as they are.

Winky, is still dangerous to any JMW or MW out there. His jab and defense will be too much for most opponents and he has a great defense.
