I disagree. Aside from the top three or four guys, most of today's heavyweights are quite incompetent.

Being very exciting gets you bigger purses...

Tyson got $25million per fight ('95 to '96) when he got out of jail! ($30million for Holyfield rematch, but $3million fine for bite).

That's $25million purses even when fighting the likes of Peter McNeeley & Bruce Seldon! :scaredas:

He's absolutely right. Both Klitschkos, Povetkin, Adamek, Dimitrenko, Peter, Chagaev, Valuev and many more, all have absolutely no personality. There's not an ounce of charisma combined. They're all insanely dull.

Hate is the obvious exception at the very elite level. Solis seems alright. Chisora is a good talker, as is Fury.

Heavyweight boxing is more about entertainment than any other division.

I can't agree, Obviously the Klits are good, Haye, Chambers, Adamek and maybe Helenious are decent but the rest of these guys aren't good at all. And one last thing back in the old days when boxing was very lucrative it was more entertaining because the fighters fought their asses off not because they were trying to be "entertainers".

I don't think Tyson meant trash talking by entertainment.

Disagree. The Klitschkos put a lot of work into entertaining the German fans with the whole stadium step up, etc. Doesn't translate to Anglophone audiences but you can't have it all.

yes they might entertain the german audience......but ali..tyson...entertained the world...not just one country......

personality is needed to be that ....super...star...in the sport.....

until a heavy weight comes along with some type or polarizing personality..the division is gonna be looked at as weak....not that it is or isnt..but thats how it will be perceived

Wlad has a somewhat boring style, everyone agrees to that. however, he still puts guys to sleep. I will always tune in for that moment because I dont mind a technical fight.

Vitali, i disagree. The guy comes to fight and throws a lot of punches. Vitali also has that bad ass attitude and that stare down. He punishes guys works hard and has quite a sense of humor.

Vitali has given us the last great heavyweight fight with lewis. A lot more entertaining than the tyson/lewis fight.
