never really liked him, but respected him since gatti fight

  2. Funny because the same rules seem to be in effect for Pacquiao.

  3. If Mayweather fights Pacquiao within the next calendar year and beats him, he has my respect.

But as of now, it looks like Floyd is waiting for Pacquiao to suddenly look old. He clearly wants none of prime Pacman.

I'd respect Mayweather if he actually *FOUGHT* Pac! Win, lose, or draw I'd respect that the man took the damn fight. Even if he gets KOed in the first round...I'd probably laugh, be like OMG, and have to makes posts laughing at Floyd's fans
BUT I would respect him for at least stepping in with Pac.

Gotta respect his boxing skills. He wouldn't be this successful if it wasn't
for his boxing skills. Now on the question, definitely would respect him
if he fights the "pacman". More so if he defeats him.

Youve got to respect floyd for his skills but his boasting and choice of opponents, ignoring the catchweight for jmm, retiring, back, gone again etc, you just have to wonder about the guy, he really wants everything stacked on his side when he fights

fighting tough fights is going to age a fighter more than a guy who does not fight hard fights and waits for guys to get banged up yes. He is waiting for something in Pacman to weaken so he can exploit it. It is the same thing Ray Leonard did with Hagler in 1987.
Ray did not dare fight Marvin after he beat Hearns, but after he saw Marvin take a year off and then fight rusty with Mugabi and look slow and tired he decided to fight him. He knew the Hagler fight took a little motivation out of Hagler. Hagler wanted fame, but he was not an outgoing guy. So when he finally got fame after Hearns I think it exhausted him. Leonard knew when to fight him. Although Leonard is a great fighter who fought greats in his prime. Mayweather had the chance to fight Pacman before this time for 2-3 years and has chosen not to. It is obvious he is skeptical if he can win and that he is waiting for Pacman to break down so he can fight him and win and say he is the best ever. At this point I hope Pacman never fights him.

You know better than anyone that whenever a fighter loses, there will be a list of excuses on this forum.

Mayflower is not getting respect at present because he is pulling off all the excuses in the world for that fight not to happen.
