looking at this from another perspective, maybe it's better for them to rush into challenges rather than being protected fighters. If Steward really believes in Lee (which I honestly think he does, not as he appeared to do with Taylor), and Povetkin's camp thinks he's ready for Wlad then they should make the fights happen. Somewhere in late 08' early 09' I can see a possible Pavlik/Lee fight. I'm curious to see Chambers/Povetkin, Chambers was not very impressive in his fight against Brock (both looked very out of shape).

I really think Povetkin is one of the most over rated fighters in boxing sure he is good but really thats all, the guy is just not a out standing talent. Good speed but not great speed good power but not great power good size but great size at 6'2. And who has Povetkin fought mostly some good fighters like Byrd and Donald but mostly above average club fighter like L' Herureux, Bostice, Mahone and a few middle of road guys like Bango and Ahunanya guys no were near the talent of Wladimir Klitschko. Wlad will out gun and out speed and out size Povetkin, Also Wlad is the better boxer and has more then three times as many fights, the little Russian won't go five.:yep
As for Lee while think the guy is talented Manny Steward is nuts when he says he will be ready for Pavlik in 2008 he has just fought club fighters at this point and has not been even in with med level guys.
In fact if Lee fights Giovanni Lorenzo on the Pavlik vs Taylor card my money is on Giovanni to take the still too green Irish man out.

If he's gonna fight Wlad, he'll have to fight the best he possibly can. Emmanuel Steward can recognize mistakes a fighter makes and figure out ho to exploit them faster than any trainer around right now.

Wlad will beat Povetkin. Perhaps badly...

You have to consider that, even though these guys don have many Pro fights, they have extensive amateur experience.

Of course the question remains as to whether or not this is sufficient preparation for the pro ranks.

Look Olandier (sp?) Solis. Look how high he's ranked with only about 8 fights.

    You are right,mr.magoo!

The Chambers fight will tell us a lot about Povetkin.I for my part would certainly prefer watching him fight 2 or 3 other known names before taking on Wlad, but he for sure has a decent chance to beat the present undisputed nr. 1 at heavy weight.IMO he is the only fighter at present who can win a point decision against Wlad.Of course there are some big punchers out there like Virchis who have a puncher's chance against Wlad, but I can hardly see them winning a point decision over Wlad.Povetkin is the only real challenger out there at present.

Not to sound like an ass, but, what mistakes do you see him making?
