JMM and his brother Rafa. DQ for JMM and getting a supposed exhibition fight with a former world champion on his official record, knocking him out for Rafa. Also, SNV began his career as the linear people's champion before his first pro fight. He's made 53 consecutive defenses of this title.

Pinklon Thomas was pretty old (not sure how old) when, as a severe heroin addict he stumbled into a boxing gym half on accident, hit the bag for a few minutes, puked alll over the place and went home with everyone laughing at him. Came back two days later and the rest was history.

Bernard Hopkins, coming out prison, starting at a late age then losing his first fight.

Considering all of those negatives early on, he certainly went on to achieve brilliance.
