Diego Corrales.....oh wait he stepped up and slapped him around. Then there was Pac man, who will be annihilated, courtesy of hard counters and rocking of the elbows.

Boxing is a business, and people don't realize how much promoters eff up potential fights that the fans want to see. Floyd's resume is a by-product of focusing on making the most profitable fights once he split from Top Rank. Arum, like all his other fighters used him as a puppet, and made the fights he wanted to make. It was ARUM's fault that Floyd never fought Cotto(kind of how Juanma never fought Gamboa), and Floyd never refused to fight Margarito.

People fail to realize that Bob Arum was/is the gatekeeper to ALL the big fights people say Mayweather avoided. I remember Mayweather used to talk about Cotto a lot. They were under the same umbrella and Cotto even watched Mayweather train once or twice (he tried to pick up on the philly shell). Mayweather spoke about fighting him MANY times, but Arum didn't work with him in making it happen. Truth is truth. Its out there to be found. The same way Arum put this BS out there that Floyd was scared to fight Margarito (which Arum himself said at the time Floyd was willing to fight Margarito after he recovered from his hand injury sustained in his fight against Judah), is the same BS that's being put out there about him being scared of Pacquiao. The common denominator in it all is not Floyd, its ARUM.

Pacquiao's resume results from the benefit of allowing himself to be milked dry by a promoter who owns most of the relevant fighters today. Any person who pays attention can notice who Arum loves to keep all the profits in house, which made it easy to make Pacquiao vs Clottey, Margarito, Cotto, etc. Whenever another promotional company is involved, fights tend to be a lot harder to make with Top Rank. Any wonder why only now that Shane Mosley is no longer with Golden Boy that this fight was made? Perhaps this has something to do with the current offer to Marquez for a trilogy that he has been requesting for YEARS now that he is not with Golden Boy? Connect the dots.

I refuse to say that anyone "ducked" anyone in Boxing period, there so much ****ing politics and **** it is nauseating being a fan when you KNOW there is little chance that the big fights you'd just love to see will happen.

I remember the ****ing mouth-watering fights I hoped would be made in a once brimming with talent Welterweight division, I predicted at the time that styles-make-fights and that I doubted even Floyd would come out with his "0" intact should they all face-off.

We saw a lot of those fights, Cotto, Margarito, Mosley, Williams, Cintron, Clottey, these guys ALL had a go at one another and I think EVERYONE has a loss in there somewhere as I had predicted .................... everyone but Floyd Mayweather Jr who had his own agenda.

Listen, Floyd is a big talent, no doubt, but it really ****ing galls me that I didn't get to see him mix it with a few of these guys. A Super 6 type tournament around the time all these guys were at welter would have been fantastic for the fans.

I wanted to throw-up a little when Floyd fought Marquez, anyway, I still won't say he's ducked anyone, but I will not be best pleased if he doesn't face Manny soon.

Maybe his hands are ****ed I don't really know but so many fights that could've been should've been ............... possible ****ing epics we'll never know about :-(

Margarito. It's irrefutable. He even retired to avoid Margo. Watch how nervous Floyd used to get when somebody mentioned Margarito

This was quoted in various news sources, including the LA Times, after the Hatton fight:

Arum says he's willing to separate animosity from business, but predicted a Mayweather-Cotto bout would "never" happen. Cotto urged diplomacy: "If you want to fight, put your troubles with a person aside.

"If you ask Floyd to fight with me, he always has an excuse," Cotto said. "I'm not attracting enough fans. I don't represent too much money. He's not correct, though. He knows who Miguel Cotto is."

Ellerbe indeed pointed to Cotto's 360,000 pay-per-view buys against Mosley as a perceived weakness in the other champion's national name recognition.

"A lot of people will be asking, 'Who is he?' " Ellerbe said. "He's a very good fighter, a warrior, but not enough people know him."

Void is RJJ 2, Void will not be ranked as high on the p4p lists as he would like or that his skills say he should be and he has no one to blame but himself, boxing fans will not be able to rank him as high as they would like due to his lacking resume.

Margarito and Pac. I don't think he ever saw Cotto as a major threat.

Great post. I'm a huge Cotto fan and was really hoping this fight would go off a few years back. To this day, emotionally, I consider Floyd to have bounced around weight divisions and "retired" to avoid Cotto.

Logically, however, I know there's a lot that goes on that I don't know. Between the Mayweathers and Bob Arum, who knows with any certainty why the matchup didn't take place.

However, due to my guy Cotto taking on the best in the world and never shrinking from a challenge, I don't blame him.
