If Floyd had beaten Mosley, ODLH, Hatton and JMM after Manny had convincingly beaten all four, would he get the credit for the fights that Manny gets for Hatton, ODLH and will get for Mosley?

The answer is only important due to the most simple fact,

We judge the greatest on a much higher standard than we judge other fighters. I believe everyone realises that he's the greatest and judges him at that level, while giving Pacquaio a pass.

Yeah, when you beat in 10x greater fashion you deserve plenty of credit. Had Manny of wore down Hatton like Mayweather, and finished him then I wouldn't give him as much credit. Had Manny actually of been the bigger man and still took that long to beat Hatton, etc.
Floyd was bigger, supposedly stronger, and held every advantage, and we saw the way he beat Hatton. Pac was smaller, supposedly to weak, and didn't seem to have any advantage, and he CRUSHED him!
It applies to DLH as well. JMM was Pac's size and Pac wasn't nearly as skilled as currently. He didn't hold any advantage over JMM at the time, and his style was all wrong for him. Floyd was WAAAY to big, strong, quick, and skilled at that weight for JMM to even compete. If Floyd beat him at 140 i'd have given a little more credit. At 135 I'd give A LOT of credit!

The fact is, it doesn't matter what opponent you put in there with Floyd, they're going to be at a disadvantage and they should be seen to be put at a disadvantage, they're fighting a guy who has so few weaknesses it's hard to see how you win against him because he's able to adjust.

Pacquaio was viewed as too small for these divisions solely because he started as a 16 yr old and weight drained himself for so long - he's been more impressive at 140-147 than he was at 116, 122, 130.

Floyd now is irrelevant, too much inactivity and an unwillingness to fight Manny Pacquaio means that he's irrelevant, but had they fought, make no bones about it, Floyd walks away with a clear UD.

in regards to your hatton coment....styles make fights

not everyone is a 2 round destructor

a man can get beat impressively in many ways

floyd and manny BOTH owned hatton....mayweather schooled him and pacquiao finished him

IF Mayweather went out and laid serious ass whippings on them that made you forget about Pac's performances, then hell yes I would give him tons of credit.

The first thing that pops into somebody's head when they hear "Ricky Hatton" is "that's the guy that got brutally KO'd by Pacman." People don't even remember the May fight.

OLDH was a shell of himself when he fought Pac, but Pac laid so many combinations on that boy that people tend to overlook the close 12 round fight that May had with him.

Head to head, though, I still think May takes a UD.

It's not that you beat them, it's how you beat them.

Floyd got a lot of credit from me for taking the Mosley, because I didn't expect him to fight Mosley.

He gets credit from me in the way he beat ODLH, too.

Here's the thing. Floyd and Manny are both in a position where they'd beat any fighter that's in or close to their weight class. So when deciding who's greater out of the two, looking at the results alone is obviously inconclusive. Instead, you'd have to look at the manner in which those fights were won. And currently, Pacquiao's extra praise is more than warranted because he's not only destroyed Floyd's opponents in far more devestating fashion, he's also gone and destroyed those opponents which Floyd didn't bother facing.

So to answer your question, if Floyd did what Manny has done in the exact same fashion, of course he'd be held in higher regards. No doubt about it.

no, floyd's not greater. floyd is more talented and given a better everything all throughout their careers.. pac and floyd. nothing pac could have done about that. not everyone is born equal. pac came from poverty and dealt with it. poor conditions, poor nutrition, nothing. floyd was given everything and with how much he was given, he chose the path of least resistance. he chose to be a *****.

Pacquaio didn't dominate JMM and never offered him a rematch
    Floyd did dominate JMM.
