hardly the same. pac fought marquez twice! berto is not even the ebst welterweight, meanwhile cotto was perceived the best welter opponent for floyd and he is not as bad a draw as ellerbe is trying to paint him.

MArquez gave Manny 2 tough fights and arguably only won one. Also Berto was the best welterweight avaiblabe at the time. Same as Cotto

3 years Of Undeniable Duckage 2003 2004 2005 (of course I am not neutral)

I don't think anybody could get away with fighting this level of opposition. all were fighters that could never beat a Cotto, Manny etc.. This is why "*******s" are good for the sport because it would have gone on forever and the wrong man would have remained P4P #1. Understand people called Mosley Floyd's toughest fight. if Mosley is your toughest fight @ age 39 then u haven't proved much against the best.

    2003 thru 2005

    Victoriano Sosa
    Phillip N'dou
    DeMarcus Corley
    Henry Bruseles
    Arturo Gatti
    Sharmba Mitchell

    How did that happen ?????

    2006-2010

Re-occurring theme is not one of these fighters beats Cotto at 147
In fact Cotto beat Mayweather's toughest test in Mosley. Cotto knocked out Judah, Sosa and Corrley!

Shane Mosley (last win was 2.3 years ago)
Juan Manuel Marquez (Never won a fight at 140 or 147)
    Ricky Hatton (1w 2L @ 147)
Oscar De La Hoya (Only wins @ 154 are Javier Castillejo,L.R. Campas,Mayorga,Vargas)
    Carlos Baldomir
    Zab Judah

Margarito, pac, cotto, ( although they were both to blame but floyd could have gotten that fight if he pushed for it ) and a prime shane just off the top of my head. I don't have a problem with his career at the lower weights, it's his welter weight "career" that's full of giant holes.

The way people talk about floyd on this forum you would think he ducked everyone. Im reading through and so far it has only been 3 opponents he ducked. So his whole career is based off 3 fighters? I don't get it.

    Tszyu - power
    Williams - size
    Margarito - size and volume
Cotto - I don't think Miguel would've given Floyd much of a test, but Cotto was still a much, much more worthy opponent than the dross Floyd fought at 147
Mosley (before Shane was late 30s) - power and athleticism
Pacquiao - speed, power, skills, mental strength, etc

Cotto is like a stronger Castillo and a full notch above him in class.
