Larry Holmes vs Lennox Lewis prime 4 prime?

Better power for sure but you are all over the place on the rest?atsch I think you've been watching Holmes post 1988 because there is no other explanation for your opinions.

Holmes by decision. Holmes had the better jab, skills, handspeed, etc. The only thing Lewis has on Holmes is height and power. Oh, and Holmes had a bigger heart and a better chin. So the only way Lewis is gonna win by is by KO. imo

excellent match-up, I would like to think that a focused and prepared Lewis would have the game plan to beat Holmes, but it is pretty much a 50/50.

 

I think prime for prime Lewis has a very good chance of KO'ing him. Holmes kryptonite was always the right hand, and Lewis has the best right I've ever seen from a Heavyweight.

Holmes, too much jab and movement for the plodding Lewis. Holmes didn't have moments of concentration lapses during his prime either, he kept his title and defended it for a long time. Lewis showed he could lose concentration in the ring and lost his title twice. I still think they are both top ten HW's of all time, but I'd have to pick Holmes by UD.

Holmes, wins but not by much. Larry was a very smart and disciplined fighter. He would get on his bicycle, stay on the outside and pop that jab in Lewis' face all night. Lewis would close the distance and take a few rounds in the 2nd half of the fight, but it wouldn't be enough.

Rounds 1-4 Holmes takes these rounds on movement and a active jab.

Rounds 5-9 Lewis realizes he's digging himself into a hole and wins round 5. Holmes takes a breather in round 6 and Lewis wins this round, Holmes is rejuvenated and wins round 7, Lewis begins to close the distance and takes round 8 and 9.

Rounds 10-12 Lewis realizes that he's behind and takes round 10. Lewis shot his load in round 10, that round is scored for Lewis based on his all out aggressivenes. However, he's shot his load and doesn't have much left, Holmes wins round 11. Lewis realizes the fight is close and that he might need a knockout and lets it all hang out in round 12, Holmes doesn't retreat and gives as good as gets, round 12 is scored even.

Holmes wins a barn burner 6 rounds to 5 with one round even.
