the point is that drugs that can and should be prescribed legally are banned in competiton only and not day to day life.

A pro boxer is not in competition all year round :good
    This is NOT the olympics
Its one fight at a time sometimes with over a year gap

If that man gets prescibed something legally from the doc that would be long gone before any fight how is that cheating ??

Should certain injuries be treated less effectivley due to this ?

Also not all banned drugs are in fact performance enhancers . this opens up way too BS and people would **** up all the time.

Do you think that someone like say Mayweather could in theory after nto fightin in a year have a random guy knock on his door and get him banned from boxing cause he was prescribed a steroid for inflamation, or cause he smoked a spliff a few weeks prior

    its ridiculous idea

It's not just one fight... PEDs help you train harder.
If you are able to train harder then the guy without the PEDs, then you have an unfair advantage. That's cheating.

    Here's an example:
Guy A has been training for 10 years with PEDs.
Guy B never used PEDs in his life.
They have a fight, and Guy A stops using PEDs for three months before the fight. Guy B is clean as always. All else equal, who has the advantage? The guy who was able to train more and harder for a larger portion of his life, or the other guy?

Uh, he does. Or pretty damn close to it. It's in the Klits' TV contract. Fights in Germany are subject to much more rigorous drug testing than fights in the US, generally.

I'm not saying this is the Olympics and it makes no difference. The competition part of being a pro athlete in any sport is a minority, the vast majority is training for that competition. The argument is do you think people should be able to use Performance Enhancing drugs to increase performance?

If you believe people shouldn't be allowed to improve their in competition performance then out of competition testing is the only way to do this.

Doping is done to increase your training response and load. Just having the drugs in your system does not increase your performance i.e. while you're competing. The drug itself does not increase performance. If I take PEDs and don't train I'll still be sh*t. If I take PEDs on the day of a fight, it will do nothing (in the main).

Say I am a clean athlete and complete a heavy strength training session today, tomorrow I need to have a lighter training day due to muscle tiredness and recovery time. If I'm on Anabolic type PEDs I can complete hard strength training every day, I don't need the same recovery. Some research shows you can complete 3 times the amount of training a clean person can do. In four months, I've done a year of training, in a year I've done three!

Also being legal in normal society has nothing to do with it. HGH, EPO, Testosterone and anabolic steoids are legal in many/most Countries even without prescription, with prescription most drugs are legal. The argument is should you be able to use chemicals to give you an advantage over your own bodies capabilities?

If you are a registered Pro Athlete and get injured due to training or overuse then by using Anabolic steroids you are gaining an edge over your bodies own capability and a clean Athlete. If tomorrow they released a drug that meant I would never get an overuse injury or pull a muscle ever again and I took it I doubt you could say that it wasn't a PED and wasn't cheating. It's the same here.

Saying "drugs should be legal" is a fine argument, saying "PEDs should be illegal, but only during periods of competition" is either not well thought out or hypocritical.

If he was retired and took himself off the "registered pro" list then no he wouldn't be banned, but if he was planning on fighting again and "registered as a pro" then he should be banned if proven to be taking PEDs. Less time banned if taking illegal drugs.

Cortisone, which is a steroid used for inflamination and probably the one you mean is not banned in most sports.
