Hard to take an IQ test when you're dyslexic, most likely that resulted in a lower score, the man is obviously smarter than Forrest Gump. Some people I know suffer from this, they are very smart but its hard for them to read, most can overcome it with time if they put in the effort.

possible the dyslexia had something to do with his IQ score.

It's a fact that dyslexia affects your QI.

    thats wat i heard too.

dont know if he was dyslexic but dyslexia isnt necessarily correlated with low iq or with lack of sharpness or brightness.

Those tests are bull****. What is intelligence and what is intellect? It's all just labels at the end of the day.

10 years ago when a child couldn't be bothered to learn or pay attention they were lazy. Today they have ADD and whatever other label we choose to give them.

Seriously, there are people who can't walk in a straight line but can recite Pi to 10,000 digits in this world!

Don't be fooled by that IQ stuff. As much as I don't agree with Ali's history I am not unreasonable the man was smart; very smart. He could analyze things very well.

(And was a complete womaniser who cheated on his wife too and often but that's often left out when we romantically remember his achievments in life :D )

IQ tests don't tell the whole story. My IQ is 160 and I don't think im a genius. You can tell if someone is bright by the way they talk and conduct their selves. IMO Ali is a pretty intelligent guy.

Ali's talked about it before - see Thomas Hauser's biography.

Never heard anything about faking any IQ test to dodge the draft. That sounds total bollox.

Also, I've never heard of him suffering from dyslexia before either. I'm not sure the term was even in existence in Ali's heyday. Ali may have suffered from it but it seems, like everyone else at the time, he was simply labeled a bit low on the IQ stakes. Ali said questions about 10 apples divided by 2 apples, and if Tom took one apple etc totally baffled him. He also said that reading was difficult as he acknowledged that his education was very limited. Basically, academic comprehension was pretty much non-existent and he never sought to correct it.

Ali's IQ was used elsewhere, obviously. He is a smart guy, just not academically. By comparison, stick Einstein in the jungle and ask him to survive for a few days and the chances are that he'd be ****ed. And ask a tribesman to use a can-opener, he'd be ****ed too. It's all relative.

Didn't he once had a classic gem of a quote:
"I said am the greatest, not the smartest" lol upon flu king some test..
But yeah that man was a genious.. Regardless of lame tests by some nerdy pencil pushers

listen to him talk and hear how witty he was. Everyone laughed and everyone laughs to this day at some of the **** he said.

Then hear Floyd stutter trying to say a simple sentence and u can tell Floyd is a pure moron...
Alis **** was intelligent and funny!!

I bet George Foreman laughed when Ali said about him "I don't like the man he talks to much"

the irony of that sentece blows my mind to this day. Now that's pure comedy!!!!

^^Yep, on the other hand IQ tests can't gauge real intelligence.
