standing in front of kelly and trading is not a wise idea but that is how williams fights. he would get stopped in a very exciting fight.

If Pavlik could stand in the center of the ring and eat Miranda's right hands, he'd have little trouble absorbing Paul's best shots. To be sure, Pavlik would feel a lot of leather in the bout but, considering his suspect defense, so would Paul. In such a scenario, I'd go with the bigger puncher. Expect a hell of a lot of spirited exchanges, and in one of the them Paul would taste the canvas for a ten count.

Generally speaking, if a fighter is there to be hit, Pavlik ultimately sparks them out.

Paul, whatever his other attributes (and he has many enviable talents, including a Duracell like work rate), is there to be hit.

I still don't like the match up for Williams. He doesn't have a middleweight frame. He doesn't have the head movement or defense not to get hit. Pavlik would KO him.

This fight was first proposed in 2008. I have always said the same thing. It would be a slightly longer version of Haglar/Hearns with less talent on display.

Williams throws almost non-stop. Pavlik has had single rounds where he threw over 120 punches. This is a gunfight, not a tactical boxing match. In this type of affair it only makes sense to side with the bigger, stronger, harder hitting fighter, especialy when he has a better chin than his opponent.

Originally i picked Williams, he also showed a good chin before... BUt now i cant help but think Pavlik eventually catches the very hittable PW.... PFP id say PW is the better fighter but style wise Pav is all wrong for Pw..... Pw takes an early lead and is busting Pavlik up but, by the mid rounds Pavlik is hurting PW and starting to slow him down.. He finishes him off with a highlight ko... Pavlik ko 8

I agree with you.. But Williams doesnt exactly have a sharp defense. His offense is his defense. He can take most Mw and JM shots but he cant affored to get hit to often by a guy like Pavlik.

Williams SD. Close fight and could have went either way.
